Mage Balance completely rebalances the mage spells in Gothic 1 Remake to ensure that magic-focused playthroughs remain highly viable. In the vanilla game, several combat spells fall off hard and feel laughably weak by the mid-to-late game chapters.

This utility dynamically tunes spell damage, mana costs, cast/charge durations, and projectile velocities at runtime. No core game archives are modified on your drive, making it entirely safe for ongoing saves, and every single spell layout is fully configurable within a single, tidy configuration file.

Mana Cost & Casting Optimization: Fine-tune mana consumption steps and make chargeable spells reach peak output faster.

Cheaper Magic Circles: Customize the exact Learning Point (LP) cost to unlock each magical circle, ensuring your mage build isn't completely LP-starved.
Advanced Mechanics Support: Flawlessly handles all scaling charge levels and Area-of-Effect (AoE) splash fields.
Optional Attribute Tweaks: Gain access to beyond-damage stats adjustments, such as splash area scaling and missile speed coefficients.
Runtime-Only & Save-Safe: Zero hard changes are committed to your disk space. All values revert instantly to vanilla layout upon closing the game application and effects never stack or duplicate.

Installation instructions:

Install the latest experimental build version of UE4SS. Extract its files into:
...\Gothic 1 Remake\G1R\Binaries\Win64\
(Ensure that dwmapi.dll sits right next to your G1R-Win64-Shipping.exe executable).
Copy the G1R_MageBalance folder from the archive into:
...\Win64\ue4ss\Mods\
(The folder must directly contain your enabled.txt file and a Scripts directory).
Start the game — the included enabled.txt string will initialize and activate the mod layout automatically.
