Improved Object Highlighter completely overhauls the default focus mechanics in Gothic 1 Remake. It outlines nearby loot, containers, corpses, pickpocketable pouches, and ore veins at a customizable range while intelligently hiding empty objects that aren't worth your time.

Mandatory Requirement: You must go into the game settings under Accessibility and enable the "Objects outliner" option for this mod to function properly.

Main Features:

  • Comprehensive Outlining: Highlights loose items, herbs, chests, lootable corpses, stealable pouches, and mining nodes. The rendering distance is fully customizable, allowing you to spot items far beyond the short vanilla lock-on system. Every single category can be toggled independently.
  • Smart Loot Filtering: Empty chests, broken containers, and cleared bodies are dynamically un-highlighted so you never waste time checking empty slots.
    Note: A corpse stays highlighted if it holds items or animal trophies you cannot harvest yet due to a missing hunting skill, indicating you should return later. Innate creature weapons (jaws, claws) and default armor attributes are skipped entirely so empty monsters don't light up.
  • Ownership & Trespassing Flags: Items, containers, and coin pouches owned by NPCs are highlighted in a unique, separate color layout. When focusing an owned object, the engine's built-in target glow adapts to your forbidden color indicator.
  • Dynamic Ore Veins: Mining spots maintain their highlight while they still contain tradeable ore and drop the contour effect the exact moment they are completely depleted.
  • Visual Customization: Fully configurable outline parameters including RGB color pickers (for both standard and forbidden state indicators), opacity sliders, thickness scales, and an optimized near-to-far distance fade algorithm.

Installation instructions:

  1. It is highly recommended to deploy using the G1L Mod Manager interface, OR manually drop the extracted package layout into your standard UE4SS directory (...\G1R\Binaries\Win64\ue4ss\Mods\).
  2. To alter parameters on the fly at runtime, install the companion Shared Mod Menu utility tool, which injects a real-time configuration overlay configuration panel accessible via the F2 key by default.
  3. Ensure you manually activate the "Objects outliner" within the game's native Accessibility options screen.
