An experimental HUD navigation modification for Gothic 1 Remake that integrates a fully functional real-time minimap element directly into your gameplay overlay. Created as an open-source proof-of-concept to inspire deeper development within the community, this lightweight Lua utility brings a comprehensive list of customizable visual parameters to enhance your exploration loops.

  • Fully tested and operational on official game Update version 1.0.2.
  • Calibrated specifically for open-world wilderness navigation. Due to spatial mapping limits, it is highly recommended to toggle the tracking overlay off when entering major camp strongholds.
  • Operates seamlessly alongside the baseline full-screen map without triggering control locks or interface conflict loops.
  • The map orientation automatically rotates relative to your player character's perspective vector.

Deep Customization Matrix:The mod engine provides multiple adjustable parameters to suit your screen layout requirements:

  • Custom Assets Layout: Fully supports custom .png asset drops for both the landscape map render and the central player marker icon.
  • Resizable & Movable Viewport: Change the dimensions of the minimap radar circle or reposition it anywhere across your active screen workspace.
  • Zoom & Opacity Handles: Tweak map magnification levels and visual background transparency properties.
  • Performance Frequency: Adjustable script tick-rate refresh loops (configured to a responsive 33ms by default).
  • Instant Toggle Bind: Hide or display the tracker instantly on the fly using your hotkey (mapped to [F12] by default).

Installation instructions:

  1. Ensure the primary UE4SS loader architecture is successfully deployed on your client setup.
  2. Download the package zip file and extract the entire folder contents straight into your directory path at:
    ...\G1R\Binaries\Win64\Mods\
  3. Confirm your folder architecture maps precisely like this: ...\Win64\Mods\Minimap\, containing the local Scripts directory and an enabled.txt marker.
  4. Navigate back up to ...\Win64\Mods\, open the shared master initialization file named mods.txt via text editor, and insert this specific string rule:
    Minimap : 1
  5. Launch the game application. Use the [F12] hotkey loop to toggle the navigation asset on and off at will.
