Arcade simulator of military ships from the first half of the 20th century. Among them are real combat vessels, prototypes that existed only on blueprints, as well as fictional sea machines. Like in "World of Tanks," since 2022 the game has been developed by the "Lesta Games" studio independently from World of Warships.

Each player has a ship at their disposal. At the location of the combat mission, users unite into teams and engage in naval battles against live opponents or bots. Ship guns, deck aviation, and torpedoes are used as armament. During battles, coordinated actions of captains are desirable, as there are no universal ships; each has its own strengths and weaknesses. Victory is achieved by the total score of the team, which is awarded for destroying enemy vessels, capturing bases, and other activities.

In many modes, battles take place on randomly selected sea maps. However, the action of specific events, such as the evacuation of British forces from France in 1940, unfolds in specific locations that correspond to real geography.

Ships are divided by their type and the nations they belong to. With the experience points and money earned, players can upgrade by installing additional modules and unlock new naval units.

Like in "World of Tanks," resources are spent during battles, and if you take damage during the fight, you need to conduct repairs. It is possible to end up spending more resources in a battle than you earned.

Combat vessels are categorized. Each type of ship has its own role during naval battles.

Among the presented countries are the Russian Empire and the USSR, Germany, the USA, Great Britain, Italy, France, Spain, and the Netherlands. There are also separate samples from Austria-Hungary, Poland, Canada, Argentina, and Australia within the common branches.

Although the game itself is free, you can purchase various containers for real money if you wish. Among them are both standard ones and those tied to holidays or collaborations. With these items, you can obtain unique ships, experience, money, temporary bonuses, access to a premium account, and slots in the port with a certain probability.

Similar to "World of Tanks," there are premium accounts here. Players using them receive 1.65 times more experience (both free and commander) and 1.5 times more credits. They can also choose three missions in campaign missions instead of two.

Premium status is granted to the account for a certain period. It can be obtained not only for real money but also for in-game doubloons. Additionally, access to "premium" is unlocked by completing combat tasks and daily missions, opening containers, and activating various codes. It can also be found in random sets and collections.

Doubloons are the equivalent of gold from "World of Tanks". They can be purchased for money or obtained in other ways:

In addition, the game features three types of battle passes. After purchasing one of them, special missions with unique rewards, including premium ships, become available. These include daily and weekly challenges, as well as various additional tasks. The most expensive subscription option provides bonuses such as free dismantling of modifications and increased experience gain, as well as automatic unlocking of several levels of the pass at once.

Developers officially support mods and even offer a program called "Bridge". It allows for the automatic downloading and installation of modifications, enabling users to turn them on and off with the press of a button.

Periodically, the game authors hold joint promotions with other brands. For example, as part of the collaboration with the developers of "Russians vs. Lizards," asymmetric battles with ships covered in scales were proposed. From other games, we can highlight MiSide — thanks to it, among the captains of "World of Ships," Mita, Kepochka, and Mila appeared.

Thanks to the collaboration with the band "Aria," participants of this group appeared in the game as ship commanders, characteristic symbols as decorations, as well as a unique animated camouflage "Chimera" with flowing lava on the sides and fire in the smoke stacks.

There were also well-known hosts and bloggers. Among them, we should mention Bonuse and Gamover from the legendary game show "From the Propeller!", as well as Top from Utopia Show. The latter is associated with the appearance of the fictional ship "Top Secret."

During the collaboration with the "Mosfilm" studio, such captains as Trus, Balbes, and Byvaly, heroes from the film "Kin-dza-dza!" and the Uncatchable Avengers in full force appeared in the game. From cartoons, the Wolf and the Hare, as well as Kiberislav and Miloslava, arrived in "World of Ships."

Some collaborations add unique modes to the game. Among them, we can highlight the competition "Well, Just You Wait!", where you need to catch eggs with the hulls of ships. This is a clear reference to the pocket console "Electronika IM-02" with the wolf from the cartoon, which was an analog of the Game & Watch device from Nintendo.
