The ParaWASD modification adds full direct character control using WASD keys and a first-person, eye-level camera to Paralives. Select your Para in Live Mode, activate the mod, and explore the world with complete control over movement, while retaining access to all standard interaction menus.
Main features:
- Mode toggle: Enable or disable the mod with the F6 key. When disabled, the standard camera, cursor, object visibility, and character autonomy settings are fully restored.
- Movement control: Move with WASD and sprint by holding Left Shift.
- View and interaction: Free look with the mouse at eye level. Aim at any object, another Para, or the ground and press E to open the radial interaction menu.
- Socializing and actions: Approach another character and press E to start a conversation — Together Cards are adapted for keyboard control. Press C to instantly cancel the current or queued action.
- Quick switching: Change the active family member with hotkeys without leaving first-person mode.
- Cursor interface: Press Left Alt to release the mouse cursor for UI control.
- Smart movement: Doors open automatically when you approach, and small stairs and thresholds are traversed without getting stuck.
Mod configuration:
After the first launch of the game with the mod, a configuration file com.parawasd.plugin.cfg is automatically created in the BepInEx/config/ folder. You can configure:
- Mouse sensitivity and Y-axis inversion.
- Camera tilt limits, field of view (FOV), and viewpoint offset.
- Base walking speed, sprint speed, and camera movement smoothing.
Important: The default mod settings are optimal and thoroughly tested. Changing parameters may cause unstable camera behavior or game crashes. If this happens, restore the default values or simply delete the configuration file to let BepInEx recreate it.
Installation instructions:
This modification requires the BepInEx plugin loader to be installed beforehand.
- Make sure you have BepInEx installed for Paralives.
- Extract the archive and place the plugin file with the .dll extension into the following folder: Paralives/BepInEx/plugins.
- Start the game and press F6 in Live Mode to activate direct control.
