SHINRAI - Broken Beyond Despair

A murder-mystery visual novel about ten friends gathered at a secluded mountain resort for Halloween. Their party turns into a night of horror when one of the guests is found dead and the group realizes that a killer is among them. The player investigates the death and tries to identify the culprit as fear and mistrust spread among the friends.

The resort’s locations can be searched for clues, and the other guests can be interrogated. Evidence must be presented to support deductions, with a mistaken accusation potentially sending the investigation in the wrong direction. Choices affect the story and the detective rank, and can also unlock bonus content. The novel has five endings: four bad endings and one that reveals the true culprit. A diary and notebook help track the investigation and collected evidence.
