A comprehensive engine calibration mod for Silent Hill: Townfall delivered via an optimized Engine.ini profile. Engineered specifically to tackle Unreal Engine 5's prominent technical drawbacks—including traversal stuttering, shader compilation lag spikes, and irregular frame delivery—this configuration leverages D3D12 Async Compute and multi-threaded parallel CPU dispatching to smooth out frametimes. Furthermore, it completely removes forced, blurry cinematic camera post-processing to restore pristine image clarity without degrading the game's oppressive visual atmosphere.

Key Features:

  • Eliminates Traversal Stutters: Harnesses multi-core parallel processing and D3D12 Async Compute pipelines to seamlessly stream world assets in the background, eradicating hitching.
  • VRAM Streaming Optimization: Refines texture streaming pool thresholds to prevent low-resolution texture hitching, object pop-in, and VRAM memory-fill spikes.
  • Cinematic Clarity Pass: Strips out forced, taxing post-process layers such as Film Grain, Chromatic Aberration, and Depth of Field for a razor-sharp presentation.
  • Raw Mouse Input: Bypasses default Unreal Engine mouse smoothing routines for direct, low-latency camera tracking.
  • Preserves Visual Fidelity: Volumetric fog systems, dynamic illumination, and shadows remain at full strength—zero aesthetic compromises or graphic downgrades.

Installation Instructions:

  1. Download the optimized Engine.ini file.
  2. Press Win + R on your keyboard to bring up the Windows Run dialog.
  3. Paste the following directory path and press Enter:
    %LOCALAPPDATA%\Townfall\Saved\Config\Windows
  4. Create a backup of your original Engine.ini file in a safe location.
  5. Paste the downloaded Engine.ini into the directory, confirming the overwrite prompt.
  6. Right-click the newly pasted Engine.ini, select Properties, check the Read-only attribute, and click Apply.
  7. Launch SILENT HILL: Townfall.
