The developers of Borderlands 4 have announced that the game is now fully compatible with the Steam Deck. This means it has received the coveted green checkmark, confirming that all in-game features and controls work properly on Valve’s handheld console.
Borderlands 4 is a fast-paced action game set on the new planet of Kairos, where players take on the roles of four new Vault Hunters in search of fortune and glory.
The game features intense combat with a huge variety of weapons and unique active abilities, which can be developed through branching skill trees. Heroes can traverse the world using double jumps, slides, and dodges, making full use of their arsenal and special powers against enemies.
Borderlands 4 offers both solo play and co-op for up to four players, with level scaling and individual difficulty settings to tailor the experience. Players are free to explore a vast and dangerous world filled with warring factions, dynamic events, engaging quests, and memorable characters. Vehicles can be used to traverse diverse landscapes, and you can dive into both main story missions and side activities at your own pace.
Borderlands 4 launched in September 2025 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. Development of the Switch 2 version has been suspended.
