Walkthrough of Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 — All Puzzles

Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 has been released and left us with mixed feelings. The game is filled with metaphors and hidden meanings, but understanding them will be difficult without personal experience. Many puzzles also remain an integral part of what is now a series. In this walkthrough, we will tell you how to quickly complete the story so that you don't get stuck for too long.

Chapter 1. Reykjanestau. How to Escape from the Shore

After the cutscene, climb up the ledges. Senua will hit a wall, continue pressing forward to climb higher. Talk to the Shadow to dispel the illusion. Move forward along the shore.

When you hear a woman's scream, keep to the right. Approach the cliff and climb the ledge to the other side. Move to the totem with the rune. Concentrate to hear Druth.

As in the first part, you will be able to find rune totems, as well as secret trees. In this walkthrough, we will not describe all the secrets in detail, read our separate guide if you want to collect everything.

Go to the buildings. Watch as a survivor attacks a Northman and go left. You need to move forward. There is only one path, so you won't get lost.

A rune will block the passage. Focus on it to imprint the symbols in your memory and turn around. Similar mechanics were in the first part, and they haven't changed here. Right in front of you on the rock is the same symbol, but incomplete. Step back so that the rock is in front of Senua's face, and you will see that another part is floating in the air. By concentrating, you will assemble the rune.

The passage will open, go around the ship for Senua to find the dead. You will continue to see ghosts of the past until you crawl through the crevice ahead. Watch the cutscene, now you have a sword. A little further ahead will be the first fight. There is no tutorial in the game, so open the settings to remind yourself of the combat controls. Climb over the beam and fight again. Go to the right. After the slave stabbed in the back, there will be another fight with an armored enemy. Move to the overturned boat and climb under it, pushing obstacles aside.

Immediately after this, there will be two consecutive fights. Move a little forward and meet the first boss — the slaver Torgest. The battle will be long, and it is easiest to catch the enemy on parries.

Chapter 2. Freyslaug. How to Get to the Village

Lead the prisoner in front of you to the settlement. After the cutscene, move to the right. When you reach the fence, watch the cutscene and break the board to get inside the settlement.

Go to the left house to pass through it into the next part of the village.

Head down the main street towards the bridge. A rune consisting of three parts will appear.

Immediately turn left and enter the ruined house. Go up the stairs and look to the left to find the first part.

The central piece will be a bit further down the street from where you came. On the right side of the main street, there is a house you can pass through. Head there, and then through another house to exit the outer side of the village. Go to the end to find the last part.

Enter the next house on the right from the main street to enter a vision. You will see Senua's house, go inside and take the mirror.

A fight will start immediately. The voices will suggest using concentration to slow down enemies. The mirror has 3 charges, which are replenished by your successful attacks. When activated, enemies become slower and stop actively blocking. This feature will help you many times. After the fight, go straight to the crucified body and watch the cutscene.

Cross the newly opened bridge and turn right, then through the hole in the wall, turn left.

Go through the house. Look at the house with the light nearby. Approach it, and the voices will tell you to concentrate. Do this and look at the wall, a passage will open. Inside there will be a tree, focus on it to make it bloom.

How to Defeat Draugr

Walk across the bridge to the light. A cutscene will start. After it, just head straight to the next scene.

Move left and walk along the wall, then go down. Now go forward until Senua starts crawling under the bridge. Right after this, there will be a long battle scene with many enemies. The most dangerous ones are those that spit fire; dodge it or use the mirror to quickly eliminate them.

Follow Fargimr until you reach the beginning of the village where you left the slaver. Watch the cutscene.

Chapter 3. Rudholar. How to Escape the Giantess

Follow your companions until an earthquake starts. Run, overcoming obstacles, after which there will be another cutscene. This stage is not difficult, and you will definitely manage it on the first try.

Senua will find herself in a forest. Reach the fork and turn right. The left path is blocked by an illusion. Also, remember that the Shadow leaves a red glow — do not go there, or you will die. Along the way, you will see a torch, pick it up.

Move a bit forward and descend the ledge. Now turn right to the familiar fork and go left. The illusion will disappear due to the firelight. Ahead is another fork. Right after the totem with the skull, go straight. After the ledge, there will be a battle. Use the mirror through concentration to weaken the enemies. Go straight, as the Shadow awaits you on the sides, and Senua will die.

After a while, the torch will go out, continue forward. Eventually, you will reach another arena. As soon as you light the torch, enemies will appear. After the fight, move forward. You will reach a wooden structure that can be set on fire. A cutscene will start immediately, after which Senua will return to the real world. Talk to Fargimr.

How to Reach the Hidden People

Go left to the descent from the mountain. At the bottom, continue along the path until you see a pedestal. There are no runes here, so you'll have to remove the barrier differently.

A new type of puzzle is based on the appearance and disappearance of obstacles and passages. There will be clusters hanging in the air. Blueish threads emanate from them to those objects that will react. If the object is present, it will disappear after focusing on the cluster, and vice versa. For the next hour, you will often solve similar tasks.

Turn left and take the stone. The world will change. Place the stone on the pedestal, now you need to find another one. Focus on the cluster that appears after placing the first stone — a path will open. Almost immediately, you will find the second stone. Place it on the pedestal, and the way will open.

Continue walking until the path is blocked again. This is another trial. The stone is slightly to the right.

Immediately place it on the pedestal. Now there will be several clusters. Look at the one on the right to create a passage.

At the top, look at the nearest cluster — a pedestal with a stone will appear. Return to the cluster that activated the passage and look at it again to dematerialize the bridge and take the stone. Place it on the altar. Then look at the leftmost cluster to open the ledge. Climb up and focus on the cluster again to reveal a pedestal with a stone. Take it and return to the center of the room.

The path will open. Next, there will be a large area with several secrets, but you need to go straight into the cave. Passing through it, you will find yourself at a lake with a similar puzzle. Take the stone on the right and immediately place it on the pedestal. The nearest cluster is slightly to the left. Activate it and take the second stone.

Now go back a bit and activate another cluster. A climb will appear.

Climb up the higher ledge and you will be next to the last cluster.

A fight with draugrs will immediately begin. Deal with them and descend to reach the second cluster. Reactivate it to form the path to the third stone. The water from the lake will disappear. Proceed into the cave.

Chapter 4. The Hidden People. How to Find the Hidden People

Move forward until you see the light. You will find yourself in a spacious room. On the left, there will be a brazier that you can light with a torch. Once you do this, a passage will appear.

Proceed to the next cave with light. Turn right and you will reach a burning brazier. Extinguish the flame with sand to open the passage.

Eventually, you will come across a crevice leading deep down. You will have to jump.

Once waist-deep in water, move forward until you reach a ledge. Climb up and continue your way. You will find yourself in a room with a small waterfall. Do not go through it; instead, head straight through the crevice.

This will lead you to a brazier. Light it to create a climb where the waterfall was. Climb up and proceed to the end. On the right, you can light a fire source.

Immediately after this, descend and return to the brazier. Extinguish the flame and go through the waterfall. The torch will go out, but you can light it at the source you just left.

Behind the waterfall, there will be another brazier. Light it and follow the newly opened path. In another cave with water, jump into it and proceed straight. On the left, there is a ledge; climb it to extinguish the brazier and continue.

Eventually, you will find yourself in front of another waterfall. The light will go out, and shadows will emerge from the water, which you should avoid. Immediately after the waterfall, there is a ledge on the left that you can sneak through. On the other side, you will find a fire source. Light the torch and return to the water. Now you can cross to the other side.

The water will extinguish the torch again. In the spacious cave, go left and then squeeze through the crevice on the left. There is a fire source.

Stick to the left wall and go straight. You will come to a fire source — light it. This will create illuminated spots on the water, allowing you to move without the torch (which will be extinguished again).

Sneak to the fire source and light the torch. Now the shadows are no longer a threat — proceed deeper into the cave. Suddenly, the torch will start flickering, meaning the shadows are becoming more dangerous. Run forward until you reach a waterfall. Go through it and continue running straight to the ledge. Do not stop.

Once safe, continue forward until you see a blue shadow. Follow it, and you will emerge into a spacious cave that transforms into surface land. Pick up the torch on the right.

On the left, there will be the only accessible brazier. Light it. Cross the bridge on the right and jump down a bit. Proceed to the end and you will see a burning brazier. Extinguish it and move forward.

Chapter 4. The Hidden Folk. How to Find the Hidden Folk

Move forward until you see the light. You will find yourself in a spacious room. On the left, there will be a brazier that you can light with a torch. Once you do this, a passage will appear.

Enter the next cave with the light. Turn right and you will reach a burning brazier. Extinguish the flame with sand to open the passage.

Eventually, you will come to a crevice leading deep down. You will have to jump.

Eventually, you will come to another waterfall. The light will go out, and shadows will emerge from the water, which are best avoided. Immediately after the waterfall, there is a ledge on the left that you can sneak along. On the other side, you will find a fire source. Light the torch and return to the water. Now you can cross to the other side.

The torch will go out again in the water. In the spacious cave, go left and then squeeze through the crevice on the left. There is a fire source.

Chapter 5. Bardarvik. How to Learn the Name of the Second Giant

Follow your companions. After the cutscene, you'll be one-on-one with your new acquaintance. Astridr wants to kill another giant. Follow her.

You will enter an arena with several draugr. Senua will be alone. After defeating them, head to the watchtower, then turn right. A rune will block the path. Look around and you'll see a familiar cluster. Concentrate to open new paths. Go to the passage closer to the rune and you'll immediately find one of the parts.

Activate the second cluster and go right to the hut. There's the second part of the rune. Return back and activate the first cluster again. A bit to the left will be a climbable ledge where you can see the last part of the rune.

Ahead, you will meet Astridr again. Continue down the path. Descend to the beach, and the path to the cave will again be blocked by a rune. There's a cluster on the right.

Activate it and go behind the ship on the left, then look at the cluster again — a ledge will appear. Climb up, go to the end, activate the cluster, and return a bit back. You will pass closer to the ship's masts and find the first part of the rune.

Descend and explore the area to the right of the central cluster. Blue marks indicate places that disappear and reappear. Climb the ledge and then interact with the cluster to move forward. Near the shore will be the second part of the rune.

Continue and descend from the ledge. In the far part of the area, there's another ledge. Climb it and interact with the cluster to pass. Then activate the cluster to the right of Senua — the path will no longer be blocked. A bit further, you'll have to repeat the procedure again. Eventually, you'll reach a ruined house. Enter and look out the window on the left to find the last rune. Return to the cave.

Inside, go left and descend clockwise to the water in the center. Concentrate on the cluster, then follow the light to learn the story of another giant. When the vision fades, Senua will be on the shore. Turn around and go through the village, guided by the torchlight. All doors are closed except for the one you need, where Astridr is waiting.

A cutscene will start, after which you will learn the giant's name and have to fend off a draugr attack. After defeating the enemies, watch the cutscene again. Now you are ready to destroy the giant.

How to Defeat the Second Giant

Go deeper into the cave until you see the monster. After a short scene, run away and periodically throw burning spears. Eventually, you will find yourself in the giant's world. You need to head to the center of the storm. Descend the ledges.

As with the fire, run from pedestal to pedestal in between the waves. You can grab onto the rings to survive the next wave.

After this stage, debris will fall on you, and you will see the shadow of the supposed impact spot on the ground. When you reach the titan, a cutscene will start, and the monster will be defeated.

Chapter 6. Borgarvirki. How to Pass Through the Forest

After the cutscene, follow your companions, then go left into the forest. When your companions say you are going in circles, turn around and go back. You will hear the Shadow again, and your companions will disappear. Continue moving until you reach a fork and turn right.

First, you will meet Astridr, then Fargrimr. Keep going. After squeezing through the crevice, you must choose whom to save. This does not affect the plot; both will survive in the end. At the end, you will find the last companion — Torgestr. After this, just go straight to the cutscene.

How to Defeat the Tyrant

When you gain control, follow Torgestr. Upon reaching Godi, watch the cutscene, then defeat several warriors and watch the cutscene again.

Climb the path to the city and engage in combat. After this, you will meet Godi himself. Watch the scene. Follow the light to learn about the last giant. Then fight Godi, the final boss.

The fight with him is not much different from a standard battle. The only thing is that he often hits with strong unblockable attacks with a red glow. No need to rush, dodge, and attack with quick thrusts in time. Once you watch the final cutscene, a mode will open where your companions will be the narrators, allowing you to learn the story from a slightly different angle and perhaps better understand the writer's intent.
