How to Get the True Ending in Hades

Hades is a roguelike from the creators of Bastion and Transistor — Supergiant Games. Given the genre, players will need to spend a lot of time on repeated playthroughs to get the true ending of the game. Sometimes roguelikes have multiple endings, like in The Binding of Isaac. In the case of Hades, the game doesn't care how you play it, as there is only one way to see the final credits.

How to Get the True Ending

To activate the ending in Hades, you will have to defeat your father Hades. If you manage to win the final boss fight, you will escape the Underworld and see something that vaguely resembles the game's ending. But suddenly, the game offers to play through it several more times, providing new opportunities and modifiers. It's important to understand that this is far from a post-game.

Each time you complete another successful run, you won't see a new ending or even a hint of one. Instead, the story will continue to develop, and new dialogues with characters in the lobby will appear. The game will encourage you to play it over and over again.

And just when your patience is running thin, and you reach the final boss for the tenth time (having previously defeated him), the final battle will change dramatically. This is when we reach the «True Ending,» or as it is known in Hades — the end of the story.

Once you complete the game for the tenth time and watch the credits... the game continues. But now it will be in post-game mode. Hades will offer the player new opportunities and abilities for successful escapes and further character upgrades. But you won't see anything new in terms of the story.
