Currently, there are four ways to spend Polychrome:

Purchasing a master tape (160 Polychrome per item);
Acquiring an encrypted master tape (160 Polychrome per item);
Upgrading the New Eridu city fund;
Replenishing the battery charge.

We recommend spending Polychrome exclusively on encrypted master tapes. With them, you can unlock S-class characters. Even if they are not in the current banner, they are guaranteed to appear in the future. Therefore, it is most beneficial for you to invest premium currency in encrypted tapes and wait for updates.

Regular master tapes are needed to obtain heroes from permanent Banners. This is what banners are called in Zenless Zone Zero. However, you will be able to acquire them during the game while completing quests. Spending Polychrome on them is definitely not worth it.

The New Eridu city fund level is the local equivalent of a battle pass. It offers generous rewards, but none compare to the best heroes you will get from encrypted tapes. Moreover, many resources will be obtained during the main and side quests as well as world exploration.
