Pathologic 3 Guide: Saving Rubin on the Fourth Day

After saving Rubin on the third day in Pathologic 3, the dangers to his life aren’t over. On the fourth day, he’ll be buried alive in the town cemetery, and your top priority will be to rescue him as quickly as possible. In this guide, we’ll show you where to find the grave where the doctor is buried, and how to dig him out.

As soon as the fourth day begins, head to the town cemetery. There, you’ll meet a young boy who will tell you about a grave with a bell that’s been ringing a lot lately. This is a sign that Rubin can still be saved, since he’s the one who’s been buried alive.

To dig the doctor out, look for a shovel near the three stone pillars on the right side of the cemetery, or by the stone building at the entrance. The shovel will either be leaning against the nearest stone pillar or against the right wall of the building.

Once you have the tool, go back to the fork in the path and turn left, then walk to the far end of the cemetery. There you’ll find a fresh grave with a bell ringing above it. Use the interact button to dig the man out and talk to him.

Rubin will thank Dankovsky in his own way, and tell him to come back the next day. Once again, you’ve saved the only local doctor from death, though it’s still unclear if this will be the last time.

It’s important to note that this quest is on a timer—you must complete it before 3:00 PM in-game time. Otherwise, Rubin will die, and you’ll have to try saving him in the next time loop.
