Destiny Devs Show Off Marathon Gameplay

Bungie just dropped a gameplay trailer and officially announced the release date for Marathon, their extraction shooter that reimagines the classic trilogy. Mark your calendars: it's launching on September 23, 2025.

In Marathon, players become cybernetic mercenaries (Runners) deployed to the mysterious Tau Ceti IV, a planet where the entire population has vanished. Whether solo or in teams of up to three, players will embark on timed runs to scavenge loot and extract safely. Die, and you lose it all. Bungie promises a steady stream of seasonal content, including events and game modes. The game is being developed for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. A closed alpha test kicks off on April 23rd, but it'll be limited to players in the US and Canada.
