Details on Half-Life 3, Information on the TES4: Oblivion Remake, and Other Noteworthy Rumors and Leaks

It is always wise to approach gaming rumors and insider information with skepticism, especially when the sources are unverified. The vast majority of leaks turn out to be false, fabricated by attention-seekers. However, it is also true that some of the earliest details about upcoming game announcements do emerge from leaks. Currently, there are circulating rumors that may interest many gamers. While their authenticity cannot be verified with 100% certainty, they are still worth considering as they may prove to be true in the future.

Half-Life 3 Is in Development, Announcement Imminent

Of course, we must start with a classic. Leaks regarding the existence of Half-Life 3 have become their own genre of gaming rumors, and fabricating them is almost a rite of passage for fake insiders. Speculation about the development of one of the most anticipated games of all time has been surfacing online for nearly two decades. However, in recent years, especially following the release of Half-Life: Alyx, leaks on this topic have become noticeably scarcer. This makes the latest batch of rumors about the third installment particularly intriguing.

The key new information about Half-Life 3 comes from dataminer Gabe Follower, who is well known among hardcore Valve fans, particularly in the Counter-Strike community. He claims to have studied data from various sources for three years and has concluded that the game is indeed in development. According to him, it will feature a small open world, a day-night cycle, a dynamic weather system, and intelligent NPCs with whom players can interact.

YouTube blogger Tyler McVicker then picked up on the topic, producing a series of videos detailing supposed Half-Life 3 features. He analyzed the constantly evolving Source engine code in Counter-Strike 2, Dota 2, and Deadlock.

Tyler believes that the third installment, like its predecessors, will be a linear shooter, but its locations will be more open, akin to Uncharted 4: A Thief's End. Half-Life 3 will also incorporate immersive sim elements, with key features including a new destruction system and more realistic physics. Clues about these mechanics were found in the Deadlock code, which included references to how surfaces and materials should interact with various elements. For example, some objects will be easier to ignite if doused with gasoline.

Just over a month ago, Gabe Follower stated that HLX (the presumed codename for Half-Life 3) had reached a new stage of early testing within the company. Now, in addition to developers, their friends and family members are also involved in the process. If this is true, an official announcement could happen this year.

TES4: Oblivion Remake Set for a June Release

Discussions about an updated version of The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion surfaced a few years ago. A former employee of Singapore-based Virtuos Games claimed in a now-deleted Reddit post that the company was working on five projects. The most significant was Altar — a remake/remaster of Oblivion using a hybrid engine: the game primarily runs on the classic Gamebryo engine, but Unreal Engine 5 is responsible for graphics. The European office of Virtuos Games is leading the project.

In the past six months, leaks about the Oblivion remake have become more frequent. The largest one occurred in January. First, a relatively reliable insider, Nate The Hate, claimed that the game would be released in June 2025. Later, the project's existence was confirmed by the website mp1st.com, whose editors allegedly accessed classified information due to a former Virtuos Games employee's mistake.

According to the latest data, The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion is a full-fledged remake, not just a remaster. Core systems such as stamina, stealth, archery, hit reactions, and the user interface will be reworked. Notably, blocking attacks in Oblivion 2025 will function similarly to souls-like games, as the remake’s developers found the original mechanic "boring" and "frustrating."

Resident Evil 9 Gameplay Details

Fans are eagerly awaiting the announcement of the next numbered Resident Evil installment, and speculation is running rampant. Various insiders claim to have information, but so far, none of the leaks have come from truly reliable sources.

For instance, well-known horror game insider Dusk Golem is convinced that Leon Kennedy will be the sole protagonist. While this possibility cannot be ruled out, Dusk Golem’s reliability remains questionable. While he was the first to leak screenshots of Silent Hill: The Short Message and details about Monster Hunter Rise, most of his leaks about Resident Evil Village were inaccurate.

When it comes to Resident Evil 9 speculations, it is worth to mention a Reddit user named LutusFix, who allegedly played the project in May 2024. This was a closed test, during which a portion of an abandoned hospital was playable as Jill Valentine. The main enemies were zombies, but there were also other monsters, including a new type of Hunters. According to LutusFix, the atmosphere of RE9 resembled the remake of the second installment. The hospital featured a stalker monster that dynamically tracked Jill. Visually, the creature resembled a humanoid goat.

The leak from LutusFix is intriguing because it aligns with information from the YouTube channel Biohazard Declassified, which surfaced later in November. According to Biohazard Declassified’s sources, the protagonists of the ninth installment will be Leon and Jill. The enemies will be evolved zombies using weapons. In addition to the abandoned hospital, players will explore caves, deserted houses, a vast forest, a factory, and a mysterious temple. Both Leon and Jill will have their own stalker monsters.

Interestingly, Dusk Golem claims that the leaks from LutusFix and Biohazard Declassified are incorrect, but he has not shared any gameplay details about RE9 himself.

GTA 6 has not been delayed, release set for late this year

This is not just a rumor but an insider report backed by an official source of information.

Last fall, an unconfirmed leak suggested that GTA 6 had been pushed to 2026. Gamers found it easy to believe— how else could the prolonged marketing silence be explained? However, journalist Jason Schreier dispelled these pessimistic speculations, stating that he spoke with six Rockstar employees, who confirmed that there had been no discussions within the company about delaying the release.

Even more importantly, last week, Take-Two's CEO Strauss Zelnick reported in a financial statement that the publisher is confident in GTA 6’s release date. Nevertheless, given the scale of the project, certain risks of a delay cannot yet be entirely ruled out.

God of War returns to Greece

Journalist and reliable insider Tom Henderson recently revealed that we will soon see Kratos' adventure in Greece. However, he does not yet know which project this refers to. A completely new game in the series? A remaster of the Greek trilogy? A franchise reboot?

The answer may lie with Reddit user u/Feeling-Examination6, who recently accurately leaked the release date of Hell is Us and revealed the existence of a new Ninja Gaiden. According to his information, Sony will announce a remaster of the old God of War trilogy.
