A historical turn-based strategy game about the American Civil War, placing the player in charge of the military and political affairs of either the Union or the Confederacy. The conflict spans 1861 to 1865, and the map is divided into more than 3,000 regions with varied terrain, climates, and levels of development.
Orders are issued in advance and carried out simultaneously: each turn covers two weeks and is resolved across 14 daily phases. The player organizes and moves armies, plans logistics and battles, appoints historical commanders, and makes economic and political decisions that can affect the course of the war and foreign intervention. The game features more than 400 historical commanders, over 1,000 unit types, and scenarios ranging from tutorials to a grand campaign.
