DLC
A global update that significantly expands gameplay options can be standalone or installed on top of the original game. With the expansion, new storylines, side quests, character classes, locations, game items, and so on appear in the game. Some expansions tell the story of another character to reveal the main plot in more detail or show an alternative version, while others continue the main storyline. Most often, the main plot is not touched at all. Occasionally, updates also pertain to the graphical aspect. Smaller expansions that do not significantly change the game are called DLC (Downloadable content).
