Steeled Resolve, Blazing Forge: Dragon's Dogma 2 Walkthrough
In the quest «Steeled Resolve, Blazing Forge» in Dragon's Dogma 2, following the events of «Dulled Steel, Cold Forge», players are tasked with assisting Sarah in the restoration of a ceremonial blade. This intricate journey involves unlocking enchanted gates, locating a hidden cave, and overcoming the challenges within. This guide will provide you with all the necessary steps to successfully complete this quest and help Sarah bring the ceremonial blade back to its former splendor.
How to complete the Steeled Resolve, Blazing Forge quest
Steeled Resolve, Blazing Forge — a direct continuation of the quest Dulled Steel, Cold Forge. The mission becomes available if, at the end, you agree to give the blade to Sarah for restoration. Sarah is merely an apprentice blacksmith, but she has taken on the responsibility and promised to see the task through.
Rest until the next morning and return to Sarah for updates. She will tell you that she has begun work, but there are no clear results yet. You will also learn about a special blacksmithing technique that the girl plans to use.
Rest again until morning and run to the forge. But this time, Sarah will not be there. Brock will approach you and order you to find his apprentice. It turns out she has gone to a special cave where metal can be melted directly in magma. A marker will appear on the map — how to get there, we will tell you below.
How to open the enchanted door and reach the cave
The path to the cave, where Sarah awaits you, will be blocked by a massive locked door. You might have already seen it earlier and even during the quest «The Phantom Oxcart.»
To open it, you will need to complete the story mission «A New Godsway» and obtain a special sword. Only with its help can the gates be crossed.
Note that if you are passing through these gates for the first time, a story quest will be triggered, in which players need to defeat a huge stone titan before it reaches the Excavation Site. Return to the additional activity later, after dealing with the main task.
You need to reach the Camp on the Volcanic Island and follow the road northwest. At a large fork, you will see the entrance to the cave.
Proceed forward and destroy the enemies. The opponents here will be not only flesh-and-blood enemies but also creatures made of magma. They cannot be destroyed with melee weapons. Therefore, if you have a mage in your party, it will be a big plus. But you can also use water jars scattered throughout the dungeon, which will temporarily make the monsters solidify and become vulnerable to damage from melee weapons.
In any case, if you want to successfully complete the task, you need to deal with all the enemies along the way. When you meet Sarah, you will receive a new assignment. You need to get out of the cave before the flaming hammer cools down. As you return, Sarah will remind you of the current state of the item. When it completely cools down, the mission will be failed.
After escaping, talk to the apprentice again and find her in the forge upon returning to Bakbattal. She will return the restored ceremonial sword, which will then only need to be delivered to its owner in Vernworth Castle. For completing the mission, players will receive 35,000 gold and 6,000 experience points.
