Episode 10

At the beginning of the chapter, you will see Thomas turning on the light in the house. It turns out, it was just a fuse:

  • Well, great;
  • Richie did say something about the electricity (indeed Richie had warned earlier that the lights might go out in the house);
  • As if we didn't have enough problems already.

If you chose the second option:

  • He did warn us, if I remember correctly (Cleo will confirm your words);
  • Do you remember?
  • He wanted us to bring candles.

At the same moment, Jake will message you. He will tell you that when launching the app with maps, the location data of the cabin were sent to Michael Hanson's phone, the main suspect in Hanna's disappearance.

Choose any option:

  • Are you serious?
  • No freaking way…
  • It just hit me.

Next:

  • It happened by accident!
  • How was I supposed to know how this app works exactly (Jake won't be angry, but you can try to justify your actions).

Next:

  • So Michael outsmarted us?! (most likely the person behind Michael);
  • That can't be;
  • It's your fault! (arguing with Jake now is quite silly).

Regardless of the previous choice, we select:

  • You told me to look at everything very carefully!
  • If you hadn't connected it, this wouldn't have happened;
  • How could you not notice? (the hacker missed this because he was completely focused on connecting all the apps).

Next:

  • So what do we do now? (tell the rest)
  • I need to urgently tell this to the others (Jake will tell them himself);
  • He will come for them! (most likely);
  • They are no longer safe.

The hacker will say that he will take all the blame:

  • What?
  • No, Jake (an additional option opens up);
  • Are you sure about this?

If you chose the second option:

  • They have just started to trust you (The hacker will say that he should have paid attention to something like this);
  • Though your offer does seem tempting to me.

At the end of the dialogue:

  • No, I still don't want this (Jake will be grateful);
  • It would be nice if you admitted you were at fault.

Next:

  • Because they mean so much to me;
  • But thanks for the offer;
  • I will answer for my mistakes (A decision worthy of respect);
  • They know I would never do something like this on purpose.

Return to the group chat and read Jessie's message:

  • Sorry, I was just distracted by something (choose this option if you want to confess);
  • (Say nothing).

Next (choose any answer):

  • Something terrible happened;
  • I have to tell you something (next: Michael Hanson knows where you are).

Choose an excuse:

  • I was deceived (best choice);
  • Don't ask me how this could have happened;
  • It was a mistake.

At the end of the monologue (choose any option):

  • He will come;
  • I am so sorry;
  • This place is no longer safe for you.

Lily will doubt your words:

(Smile);

I am outraged;

We underestimated him (best choice).

At this moment, Jake will interrupt the conversation and tell about the tracking program on the phone via GPS:

And because of that, the phone could have been tracked again;

(Say nothing).

Jessie will try to calm you down:

  • Thank you;
  • But exactly such things should not happen (Jessie still thinks you are needed by the team);
  • (Say nothing).

Thomas will suggest that Michael knew about the friends' plans to move out of town;

  • Yes, exactly;
  • He wanted us to find the phone;
  • And knew you would take the mobile phone with you (next: He actually planned this).

Next (does not affect the development of events):

  • He's smarter than we thought;
  • We probably were too confident in success and didn't think about the danger;
  • I had a bad feeling about the phone from the start.

Lily and Cleo will suggest going back to Duskwood:

  • I don't think that's a good idea;
  • Duskwood exactly;
  • What options do we have? (listen to all suggestions);
  • In general, it's better to stay away from the cabin.

If you choose the third option, Lily will remind you of the motel option:

  • We should quickly decide what to do;
  • But it's still in Duskwood (correct);
  • (Say nothing).

Regardless of your decisions, Dan will interrupt the conversation and say that it's best to stay in the cabin:

  • Are we staying?
  • Are you not aware of what we were discussing?
  • THIS is your idea? (Dan will say he'll wait for the killer in the cottage).

Dan for some reason will say that you were supposed to betray the company of friends:

  • They figured it all out a long time ago;
  • No, I didn't betray anyone (correct);
  • (Say nothing).

Regardless of this, Dan decides to stay and meet the killer:

  • You're funny, you're in a wheelchair;
  • I really don't know what to say;
  • What exactly does this mean?

Choose any option to find out Dan's plan. He will talk about the front doors, which simply need to be watched. The guy will also remind that they are armed:

  • Is it even loaded?
  • We have a weapon, but we still don't know who brought it!
  • (Say nothing).

Next:

  • That's not what I meant, and you know it;
  • It seems like you brought the weapon (Dan will refute this theory);
  • (Say nothing).

Despite all arguments, the guy will continue to insist:

  • And he doesn't count on you resisting (Dan will like your line of thought. Cleo will also support him);
  • Only in movies can you play heroes;
  • Drank too much?

Next:

  • I think so too;
  • This is just madness (Dan will say that madness is to close your eyes and live in fear).

Everyone will take turns supporting Dan's plan:

  • Yes;
  • No;
  • Jake? (ask what the hacker thinks about this).

Next:

  • I have hope again;
  • The worst idea that ever came to their mind (opens an additional choice).

If you chose the second option:

  • Are you familiar with their ideas (a bit of irony);
  • Dan should have stayed in the hospital;
  • They haven't seen what I've seen (access to an additional choice).

Next:

  • I mean the death of Richie (if you chose the third option in the previous choice);
  • We are dealing with a cold-blooded killer;
  • Dan can't realistically assess the situation (Jake will try to calm you down and say that a sudden change in tactics might benefit them).

Also, the hacker will note that you acted quite provocatively towards Michael:

  • It was a tactic, Jake (additional choice);
  • (Say nothing).

Next:

  • I wanted to lure him out of hiding (further: You have your methods, I have mine);
  • I wanted to get him to talk to me.

Finally, Jake will say that he has another lead to follow up on. You can ask about this lead or attend to other matters. The hacker will go offline, and you can send him a message:

  • If you're not mistaken…
  • Better tell the others;
  • (Say nothing).

Now you'll have to take a break from the story and work on decrypting Hannah's cloud. Truth be told, we found everything on the cloud back in episode eight, but apparently, the developers of Duskwood hid something else.

Once you're done with the blocks, Jessie will message you. She'll say there's no news and everything is quite quiet. She'll also ask how you and Jake are doing. In the conversation with her, choose any options, as it will not affect the plot.

In the dialogue, you'll learn that Dan has distributed everyone to their places and note that he's quite the specialist in such matters. A bit later, Jessie will ask who you think brought the weapon into the house:

  • Clearly, it was Dan;
  • That it belongs to Thomas;
  • Cleo;
  • Lily brought it (?).

After choosing an option, you'll have to justify it. Your answer will not affect anything. Gathering her strength, Jessie will say that she wants to talk about something else:

  • I figured you were actually going to talk about something else;
  • And what would that be?
  • Can't it wait? (Jessie will say no and suggest discussing it right now).

The girl will ask you not to blame yourself if something happens to your friends. At that moment, Cleo will message in the group chat asking what you're talking about with Jessie:

  • About very secret secrets;
  • Ah, just about how cool I am;
  • About Michael Hanson;
  • Nothing serious.

Tell your friends:

  • I have one thought;
  • Actually, I wanted to ask you something (choose this option).

Next:

  • It's about this Pine Glade festival in Duskwood;
  • Hannah recently visited the Pine Glade festival website (correct).

Next:

  • Tomorrow marks exactly ten years since Jennifer died in a car crash (correct);
  • Tomorrow could have been a very important day for Michael Hanson;
  • Jennifer died on the day of the Pine Glade festival.

Another question:

  • Were you at the festival with Hannah back then? (Cleo will say she was at the festival but without Hannah. Though, she might have seen her);
  • Did you see Hannah there ten years ago?

Next:

  • I want to find out how the accident happened;
  • Hannah must have met Amy at the festival;
  • You know, this is really important.

Dan will intervene in the conversation:

  • I know;
  • Do you think I just want to upset you?
  • Better try to remember if you saw Hannah back then (Dan won't remember that day, but Lily will share something interesting).

Ask Lily to recall every detail. She'll tell you that she was at the festival with Dan, who bought her cotton candy and won a prize at the shooting range. From that moment, Dan will also start to remember some details. That day, Hannah asked him to look after Lily, which he did:

  • Do you remember what Hannah was planning? (she didn't tell Dan about her plans);
  • Dan, so you can shoot? (Dan will think you're implying he brought the gun to the country house);
  • Did you see Amy with her? (Hannah was alone. She asked to pick up Lily, who was riding a pony, and then suddenly disappeared. When asked Was she in a hurry? Dan will answer affirmatively);
  • And what were you doing at that time? (Eating a grilled sausage).

Hannah left Lily with Dan and said she would return before the fireworks, but she didn't. After the fireworks, the guy took Hannah's sister home:

  • Why didn't you wait for Hannah? (Dan cited that he had to take Lily home);
  • And you're sure it was at the festival exactly ten years ago? (absolutely);
  • Maybe you can remember anything else? (no).

After the festival, Lily couldn't go to school alone for a few more weeks because of the accident:

  • Right, that could've happened (true);
  • Or because it was Dan who took you home, not Hannah (the parents didn't pay any attention to it at all);
  • (Say nothing).

So, Hannah meets Amy somewhere at the Pine Glade festival:

  • But what exactly they were up to, we don't know (next: Amy said it was all her fault);
  • That's what he does;
  • (Say nothing).

If you chose the first option twice:

  • This we know from their correspondence;
  • It all started because of her;
  • Apparently, she asked Hannah to help her with something (Hannah thought she'd return before the fireworks);

Next:

  • But she doesn't make it because of the accident (true);
  • Which is launched at 10 pm over Blackwater Lake;
  • But Hannah doesn't have enough time.

Then ask Thomas if he can remember that day. The guy will answer that ten years ago, he didn't even know Hannah, as well as all the participants of this conversation.

Dan will say he went to stare out the window, not to miss the legendary bird. Later, Jake will contact you and tell you that by requesting information about Hannah's phone location, Michael not only received the signal but also exposed himself.

  • Did he specifically point out this lead to you? (no);
  • Do you know where it is? (yes);
  • Did Michael erase all his tracks? (the hacker managed to detect the person receiving the signal).

At the same moment, Jessie will call you and say that the garage archive doesn't list the car involved in the accident 10 years ago. In the background, you'll hear a crash. It's Dan dropping a coat hanger.

Shortly after, you'll see a conversation between Dan and Thomas, in which Hannah's guy will say he's already seen the gun they found in the house. He will claim it's Hannah's father's gun. Right after that, Dan will write and try to tell the story. Listen to him to learn about the guy's father.

After the conversation in the general group, Jake will write that he has established a connection with the microphone on Michael Hanson's phone. The hacker will move friends to a separate chat where you can listen to the sound from the killer's microphone.

Choose the correct answers:

  1. Is he sitting in the car?
  2. An iron chain.
  3. He's walking slower than before.
  4. I think so too.
  5. Bury the body.
  6. There's a woman with him!

At the end, you will hear the sound of doors opening and the connection will be lost. Jake will try to restore the connection, but he won't be able to. Jessie will ask to discuss what was heard again:

  1. The car was driving, rather slowly.
  2. Presumably outside of Duskwood.
  3. Quite possible, since his steps slowed down.
  4. Or he knows that the area is not very lively.
  5. It was something heavy, wasn't it?
  6. When we first heard Hanna.
  7. Maybe a radio tower?
  8. But this noise is definitely an important clue.
  9. I bet we would find some clue in his house.

Dan will suggest that the noise might not have been interference, but the sound of a waterfall. Listening to the audio does give that impression. He will also start asking Cleo about trips in a horse-drawn carriage at the festival. Dan will note that Hanna mentioned such a trip ten years ago:

  • Do you mean when she brought Lily to you? (correct);
  • Right?
  • What is this horse-drawn carriage tour anyway?

Dan will also hint at Grimrock — one of the stops on the horse-drawn carriage route. The noise you heard was not interference:

  • It was a horse carriage! (no);
  • But by Grimrock waterfall! (correct);
  • ?

This year, access to Grimrock waterfall will be blocked — it is written on the festival's website. Cleo will ask her mother why access to the waterfall was closed, and will contact you soon.

Jessie will bring up the topic of a boy named Alfie, who called Cleo a friend of the murdered girl (Hanna). But it's still unclear whether she is dead:

  1. What if he meant Amy.
  2. Cleo and Amy attended drawing classes together.
  3. So, he really was a witness?
  4. You broke his toy truck.
  5. It's not the same as talking.

Cleo will write information about the waterfall. It's closed because supposedly toxic substances were found in the reservoir:

Ah, so that's what Michael prepared the barrels for in his barn! (you can send a photo of the barrels from friends' phone);

Both of them;

Well, I hadn't really thought about that.

Next:

  • He created a controlled area (correct);
  • Hmm, I see;
  • Has your mother been to Grimrock after that incident? (Cleo didn't ask her).

Respond to Thomas, who is planning to go to Grimrock:

  • We assume that, but to say we know is not possible;
  • I knew you were going to say that now;
  • What we need first and foremost is a plan of action (correct).

Another choice:

  • I'm afraid, Thomas is right (no);
  • That's complete nonsense (correct).

Cleo will speculate that if Thomas's theory is correct, then Michael must have killed Amy that same day:

  • Not necessarily, no;
  • Yeah, I just had that thought too;
  • Why do you think that?

Respond to Jessie:

  • At least not having precise information (correct);
  • We'll only make things worse;
  • Jessie, Hanna definitely won't be able to stand up to him.

Thomas still wants to go to Grimrock:

  • Your strength lies in your unity;
  • It would play right into Michael's hands (further: That you would separate).

Thomas will suggest everyone head to the waterfall. Cleo will go offline and hurry to him to talk. The further decisions won't affect the plot, as the friends decide to follow Thomas.

Later, Jake will contact you and suggest finding an alternative route. Choose the option I might try talking to Michael:

  • I'm not sure either;
  • It's definitely not a good idea (correct);
  • But I can't think of anything else.

The hacker will suggest sending one person to Grimrock:

  • This person should not be from Duskwood;
  • This person must definitely be familiar with Duskwood (correct).

Choose the answer:

  • Someone who knows Michael would have a clear advantage;
  • Michael must not know this person;
  • I think it's important that this person is known by Hanna;
  • We must trust this person in any case (correct).

Next:

  • He should have combat experience;
  • He should be armed (correct).

Next:

  • If Phil wasn't in jail, I would have suggested him first;
  • Dan, if only it weren't for the wheelchair;
  • The circle is getting tighter (correct).

Another choice:

  • Better to choose someone from the outside (correct);
  • (Say nothing).

Next:

  • Someone like Puck;
  • But I don't know who (correct);
  • Old man Grey from the motel.

Jake will remind you that we're sending this person directly to a criminal:

  • Right, it's too dangerous;
  • But our criminal would never attack a stranger;
  • This person must believe what we tell them (correct).

Next:

  • How about Alan?
  • I can ask Alan (the police chief) to go there (correct).

After this, a long chain of messages will follow in which you need to persuade Jake to agree with you. Choose the corresponding options so that Jake organizes your talk with Alan. Return to the group chat and tell your friends about your plan.

Thomas counters that the police haven't made progress in searching for Hanna, although they should have arrested and interrogated Michael long ago:

  • I assume Michael hid the evidence (further: Alan can save Hanna);
  • Maybe Lily just chose the wrong words;
  • Because Michael will definitely flee, after you leave.

Dan will ask, doesn't the police chief still suspect you?

  • That's completely irrelevant;
  • Exactly, and by doing so, I'll dispel all his doubts immediately (correct);
  • But only because I've always cleverly avoided him.

Answer Dan's question:

  • No, he was even against it;
  • Dan, I make my own decisions;
  • (Say nothing).

Jake will interject in the conversation. He will say if the talk with Alan doesn't go as planned, he will offer him a deal:

  • What do you mean?
  • I think I know what you're hinting at (further: You would sacrifice yourself for me).

Say goodbye to your friends and open a chat with Alan. Greet him and ask for help. At this moment, Jake will give you some advice that will help in the conversation with the police chief.

Switch to the conversation with Alan and choose:

  1. Listen, we don't have much time.
  2. Of course, you might guess that I want to talk about Hanna.
  3. If you want to save her, please listen to me very carefully.
  4. You surely know the waterfall in Grimrock?
  5. Somewhere near there, Hanna is being held captive.
  6. This is a matter of life and death.
  7. Did you not read what I wrote?!
  8. When all this is over, I would gladly come to Daskwood.
  9. And answer all Your questions.
  10. Are you really going to risk her life?

The police officer will ask where you got this information:

  • From the kidnapper himself;
  • I will explain this to you when you save Hanna;
  • I can't tell You that;
  • Didn't get it, but figured it out (correct).

Next:

  • Alan, I beg You, believe me!
  • Do you really want to be responsible for Hanna Donfort's death? (next: You don't want that, Alan).

The cop will reply that all his guys are currently at a festival:

  • Then go yourself;
  • Great, I'll just tell that to the killer;
  • Isn't it your duty to handle all reports? (Alan will agree).

Finally, tell Alan that it might be dangerous. Return to the group chat and tell Thomas about the conversation. The other guys won't be online. After that, prepare to solve another batch of mini-games.

Later, the police chief will message you saying he has arrived at the location. You can ask:

  • Why are you writing to me now? (next: To make sure I didn't run away?);
  • How much longer to Grimrock?

Alan will suggest talking while he's on his way to Grimrock. Here you'll have to choose what to tell the cop. You can remain silent or explain how your phone number ended up with a group of friends.

The cop will ask why you've been avoiding him:

  • You wouldn't understand;
  • I'm scared (the cop will reply that you shouldn't be afraid of him);
  • Because I was advised to.

Alan knows that the anonymous call about the Hanson house was your friends' doing:

  • Yes, it was us;
  • It was one of my girlfriends;
  • I personally made the call (Alan sent his officers there, but the house was empty);
  • I don't know what you're talking about.

Next, you can send photos with evidence and listen to a few of the man's theories. If Hanna really turns out to be where you said, then why can't he arrest you:

  • Because You trust me (correct);
  • Alan, that's ridiculous.

Next, choose two responses:

  • If I were the criminal, I would never direct You to Hanna.
  • I, like Hanna, am just a victim.

Ask the officer to tell you something about himself if you want to read his story. After that, you will find out that Michael Hanson, whom you suspect of kidnapping Hanna, is dead. Alan will confirm this. It's best not to tell about what you learned from Michael's wife. Choose Unfortunately, no. He will also tell you that once Michael just closed his bar and disappeared. His will was found by his then employee:

  • Which employee?
  • Ted Madruga!
  • Phil... (correct).

One day Michael said that if he had hired the guy earlier, nothing would have happened:

  • I see;
  • Because Michael could have left Aurora to pick up Jennifer (correct);
  • (Say nothing).

According to Phil, the will was just lying on the bar counter:

  • As if it was deliberately placed there (most likely it was);
  • This is indeed a strange story;
  • Supposedly? (Alan will ask not to assume anything).

Did Phil Hawkins call you from jail:

  • Yes, that's true (tell the cop the truth);
  • No, that's not true.

What did you talk about:

  • He wanted to know if everything was alright with his Aurora;
  • He expressed suspicion regarding his arrest (correct);
  • About visiting hours.

Most likely, Phil already knew that he was mentioned in the will as a beneficiary:

  • Could Phil have killed Michael?
  • Was it really like that? (next: I mean, that Phil already knew it);
  • (Say nothing).

In conclusion, you can highlight a few theses or remain silent:

  1. What was urgently required for the will.
  2. So you helped.
  3. You wanted to help your old friend Michael.
  4. As compensation for not being able to find Jennifer's killer.

Alan will suggest talking about the hacker:

  • About Jake? (do not reveal your friend's name);
  • As expected;
  • No, we definitely won't do that.

If you choose the second or third option, the cop will ask how the hacker got involved in this case:

  • Ha-ha, as if I would tell you;
  • Come on, Alan (correct);
  • (Say nothing).

Next:

  • Then you'll just have to keep wondering;
  • No, Alan, I can't tell you that (correct);
  • Well, alright, I'll tell you...

Next:

  • I know what I need to know (correct);
  • What do you mean? (with this question, you will respond to Alan's question);
  • (Say nothing).

The cop will say that Michael was a great person:

  • What if Michael is still roaming the forests? (next: Maybe then he just went into hiding);
  • Probably, Michael is indeed dead.

Alan will refute this theory:

  • Do you say this as Michael's friend or as the chief of police of Daskwood? (Alan will be adamant);
  • What if I'm right?

Try to ask him about Hanna's call. The cop will ask a counter-question:

  • The call came on the day she disappeared;
  • First, answer my question (correct);
  • (Say nothing).

Alan will tell you that according to Hanna, she was being followed by a man for some time:

  • Did Hanna give you a name?
  • Was this man from the woods?
  • It wasn't a man in a mask, was it? (she didn't share such details).

The girl asked the cop if she brings her receipt, could the officer track the buyer:

  • Have you ever seen this receipt?
  • Did Hanna have something on her stalker?
  • And what did you tell her? (Alan will interrupt the conversation as he has reached the waterfall).

Answer the call and listen to the officer. He will say that he found nothing at the waterfall and is heading back to the station. Return to the group chat and inform your friends about it.

Talk to Jake, who during Alan's absence managed to look through his computer. You will have the opportunity to listen to the detective's audio recordings made in Amy's apartment.

After doing so, return to Jake and choose the correct answers:

  1. The crow sign.
  2. Seems like our criminal's handwriting.
  3. The criminal.
  4. Because he is the one who took the letter.
  5. Amy wrote the letter herself, which was in the envelope.
  6. And she didn't plan to send it.
  7. The criminal brought her body to the forest.
  8. Amy's death must be related to Jennifer's accident.
  9. Michael Hanson.
  10. Alan and Mike were friends…
  11. Sure, Alan knows even more.
  12. I think Alan declared Michael dead.
  13. To do his friend one last favor.
  14. Michael Hanson is perfect for pinning all this on him.
  15. The father of the deceased child disappears into the forest.
  16. You couldn't find a better candidate.

Finish the conversation with the hacker and open a conversation with Jessie. Listen to her theory that the AMC Gremlin car would have had to be serviced at a garage, as there were no other garages in town. The girl will say that she looked through a decade-old archive but missed something. One of the accounting folders was simply missing. Then Jessie noticed an unevenness on the paper:

  • What do you mean by unevenness?
  • As if the page was folded? (unevenness, like pressing hard on the pen while writing);
  • In short?

The girl will send you a photo with the caption Ted Madruga. This hints that he might be the car owner.

After the dialogue with Jessie, an unknown contact will add you and send a link to a live webcam. On it, you can see Hanna and Richie tied up.

Send the link to your friends in the group chat and discuss the broadcast. Choose any response options, as it will not affect the plot. Jessie will suggest sending the link to Alan. For now, Jake will try to find out something about this stream.

A little later, friends will see a light behind the house. Try to calm them down (choose any answers) and ask where everyone is. After a while, Jessie will call you and show a man with a lantern right outside the window.

Tell Dan:

  • If you miss, he'll know you're armed!

Order Thomas not to leave the bathtub:

  • You're definitely not going to do that!

Then:

  • But first, you'll take a gun with you! (no);
  • How would you know that;
  • It can change at any moment (true).

Regardless, Thomas and Dan will go outside. If you ask Jessie to look out the window, she won't see anything. After that, the girl will say that she needs to help them:

  • What do you want to do?
  • No, that's not the best idea (even if you choose this option, she will decide to go outside);
  • Yes, you should (true).

Tell the girl that you'll support her, after which she'll call you via video call. You'll see the killer trying to attack Jessie, but Dan wounds him in the shoulder.

Thomas will say that the killer ran into the forest, and Cleo and Lily continue to follow his trail. Until the end of the conversation, choose any answers, as they will not affect the plot.

At this moment, Dan will contact you again. In addition to talking about the killer, you can ask what the guy wanted to talk to you about earlier. If you choose I don't believe you, he'll tell you that he testified against Phil while he was in the hospital. Dan also told the cops about the group and the investigation they are conducting. He will also hint that Jake was not online when the criminal showed up at the cottage.

Return to the group chat and read the message about the punctured tires:

  • When did Michael do this?
  • Then you'll have to stay in the cabin for a while longer (true);
  • You're probably joking.

When the friends disperse, the killer will write to you. He will offer a deal: Hanna and Richie's lives in exchange for your arrival in Duskwood. Regardless of your answers, the man will insist on your coming to Grimrock.

Write to Jake, then open the group chat and tell your friends that you need to come to Duskwood, as Michael is waiting for you in the iron mine shaft. Cleo will ask why he needs this:

  • I don't know;
  • I was hoping you would tell me (then: He wasn't very talkative);
  • Maybe he just needs help.

The friends will start arguing. Ask them to calm down and think everything through carefully. Lily will ask what exactly the kidnapper said:

  • First some confused words;
  • That he wants me to come to him (true);
  • He asked me to listen to him.

After:

  • And that nothing else will happen to anyone (true);
  • He said he would surrender to the authorities;
  • Supposedly he regrets it.

Next:

  • He also told me where Hanna and Richie are (true);
  • Yes, that's basically it;
  • And that he has his reasons for all this.

Answer Lily's question:

  • He didn't say that;
  • At the waterfall in Grimrock (true).

Thomas will intervene, asking to fulfill the kidnapper's request. You can ignore him, as soon Jake will appear and ask to switch to a private dialogue.

Michael said nothing would happen (hard to trust this guy);

Where did this sudden change of mood come from? (this sentence hardly seemed part of the kidnapper's plan. The criminal changes course due to the circumstances. Choose You mean because Dan shot him?);

He told me about the iron mine on his own initiative (his actions have always been crazy).

Make a decision:

  • I will go to Duskwood (even if you choose this option, friends in the group chat will forbid it);
  • I will not go.

Jake will decide to go to the iron mine for you, as he is nearby. The hacker is not going to play by the killer's rules:

  • You might be right (correct);
  • Of course not, when he sees you down there;
  • (Say nothing).

The main entrance to the mine is not in Grimrock, but in Duskwood itself. The entrance near the waterfall is carefully hidden, so Alan didn't find it.

Respond to Dan:

  • Michael definitely won't do that;
  • Do you think an injured Michael is happy and agile?
  • Yes, that's a good point (correct).

After the conversation, friends will go offline, and you will have to restore a few more damaged blocks on Hannah's cloud.

Return to the dialogue with the hacker and ask what to do next. The guy will ask you to tell Michael that you are on your way to Grimrock:

  • I won't help you do something stupid;
  • Michael will know I'm lying (in both this and the previous case, Jake will say that you are angry);
  • Of course (correct);
  • Why should I do that?

Open the dialogue with Michael:

  • I accept your offer;
  • Let's meet in Grimrock (correct);
  • Go to hell.

A little later, Jake will contact you again and say that he has reached the mine. You can ask him to take a photo.

The hacker learned a lot about this mine, and Michael has a good reason to use it as a hideout:

  • And what is that reason?
  • Because it's creepy;
  • Its huge size (correct);
  • The mine fits the legend.

Jake will also tell about the ladders leading down more than 70 meters. You can ask him to send a photo. When he goes down, listen to his story about the explosion in the mine and the legends that attract tourists.

After a while, Alan will reply and say that he is heading back to Grimrock. You can try to dissuade him, but the decision won't affect the plot, and the cop will go to the waterfall.

Return to the dialogue with the hacker and tell him about it. In response, the guy will tell you about the documents he found in the mine—all belonging to Michael Hanson.

Does Alan know about the entrance in Grimrock?

  • No, I think not;
  • No idea?
  • Yes, he knows (correct).

Then:

  • If Michael sees Alan... (continue with He will know I won't come);
  • (Say nothing).

Jake will find a letter that was stolen from Amy's apartment. He will photograph it and send it to you.

Read the letter and reply to your friend:

  • I don't understand a word!
  • Amy killed herself (further: Michael didn't kill her);
  • This letter is a fake!

Why did she do it:

  • She simply couldn't face going to jail;
  • She knew she was going to die;
  • She was tormented by guilt (further: She couldn't forgive herself).

Did Michael take the letter with him because he was afraid they'd trace it back to him?

  1. No, I don't think so.
  2. Then he would have taken the envelope with him too.
  3. He wanted to hide that it was a suicide.

Alan will say that he found documents:

  1. You found evidence.
  2. All of this was hanging on the walls of Michael Hanson's house!
  3. Don't shoot just yet.

The police will call you, and you will see Hanna alive, but without Richie. Open the group chat and tell your friends about it. Dan will ask to reopen the stream, which still shows Hanna and Richie. Choose the following answers:

  1. Let me think…
  2. Alan called me.
  3. Because my messages to him weren't getting through.
  4. And then there was this strange sound.
  5. At first, I thought Alan would run into Jake.
  6. But it was Hanna.
  7. She said to find Richie.
  8. Well, that's about it.

Thomas will suggest that the broadcast isn't real — agree with him.
