Kingdom Come Deliverance 2: Lost Honour Walkthrough

In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, side quests often intertwine with the main storyline, and completing them can help you progress in the story, improve your reputation, or reveal new information. One such quest is Lost Honour. In this guide, we will explain how to start and successfully complete this quest.

How to Start the Lost Honour Quest

To do this, embark on a journey along the roads near Sigismund's camp in the location of Kuttenberg. There, you will encounter a knight named Jezek, who will attempt to rob the main character. Interestingly, this encounter can happen during fast travel or while moving normally along the road. For instance, we were fortunate enough to meet him near the village of Gorzhany.

During the journey, an older knight named Jezek from Gologlav will call out to you. He will try to rob Henry, but he will do it rather clumsily. Here are the options to activate the quest:

  • Talk.
  • Skill check (threat, persuasion) or "I don't want to fight you."
  • Robbing people is a sin.
  • Tell me how it all happened.
  • Such a pity.
  • That was noble.
  • Maybe I can help you.

This will give you three additional activities, which will ultimately lead to one.

Talk to Zawisza of Garbów

Zawisza, the very knight who won the equipment and horse in a fight with Jezek, is located in Sigismund's camp. To get inside, simply tell the guards: "I was sent by the knight Jezek," and they will let you pass without further questions.

To find Zawisza of Garbów's tent, follow the main road to the entrance of the closed part of the camp where the centurions' tents are located. From there, turn right, and on the left, you will see a shield with the emblem described by Jezek. Go around it, and behind it, you will find tents with the same crests.

In the dialogue with the knight, you can choose a skill check, but eventually, it all comes down to a duel. With a sufficiently developed persuasion skill, you can demand a handicap, making the fight with Zawisza slightly easier, but don't expect a walk in the park. In our experience, he is the strongest fighter we have encountered in Kingdom Come 2.

Prepare for the Duel with Zawisza of Garbów

To participate in the competitions with the knight, you need to have the following items in your inventory:

  • Polearm (halberd, glaive, spear, etc.).
  • One-handed weapon (sword, axe, mace, etc.).
  • Any shield.
  • Two-handed sword (the main character's sword will do).
  • 300 groschen.

You can acquire the necessary weapons from the blacksmith in the camp, forge them, purchase them, or take them from your own chest, it doesn't matter. When you're ready, return to the knight and state your name. You will have three options to choose from.

How to Defeat Zawisza of Garbów

For us, the first duel was a real challenge, as throughout the game we never used polearms. We had to load the last save and level up the skill, which we recommend you do as well. Practice in advance and raise this skill to at least level 10 because the opponent is really strong.

Additionally, you should equip yourself with heavy armor, as your opponent also prefers such protection and will cause bleeding with the first hit to an unprotected area, making the fight even more difficult. A great option could be the Bruncvik armor, which could be obtained at the very beginning of the game in the Trosky region by completing the quest The Lion's Crest.

Here are some tips:

  • Buy several polearms, as they wear out very quickly, and the damage from a broken weapon will be minimal.
  • Prepare a restorative potion and take stamina-boosting decoctions in advance, such as "Bull's Blood." This will greatly simplify the battle.
  • Watch which hand the enemy holds the weapon in and move your weapon to the opposite side. If you don't do this, you won't be able to deflect the opponent's blow.
  • Zawisza will often attack with combinations, so be sure to restore your stamina before directly engaging him. If you don't, you may not have enough stamina for subsequent attacks or to deflect blows.

After winning the first round, patch up your wounds and take a restorative potion. Sleeping and skipping time is prohibited: the quest will be failed! You will have time to prepare while the opponent rests in the tent.

In the subsequent duel, victory will be slightly easier, as you have probably used a one-handed sword often enough. The main thing is to timely block the opponent's strikes and deliver counterattacks.

For the final duel with Zawisza, it is recommended to arm yourself with a longsword — this is his main weapon, which he wields masterfully. Zawisza actively uses Master Strikes, especially if you limit yourself to just blocking and counterattacking. To prevail, you need to either use Master Strikes yourself or perfectly block his attacks and then quickly counterattack, avoiding his retaliatory blows. Try to perform full combos to keep the opponent on edge.

If you reforged Racek Kobyla's sword, it will be an excellent choice for the battle. With sufficiently high stats, you can defeat Zawisza with just one Master Strike, making the duel quite swift.

If you manage to win all three rounds, you will receive the achievement "Master Among Masters".

Retrieve Sir Jezek's Armor and Horse

Upon completing the tournament, approach the knight and take the key to the chest in his tent. There you will find Jezek's equipment, as well as the groschen you paid for participating in the tournament. Don't forget to take Jezek's armor (brigandine) lying next to the chest.

After that, follow the marker on the map where Sir Jezek's horse is indicated. It is wearing a yellow caparison, so you won't confuse it with any other.

Head to the marked location on the map, to the inn where the knight will be waiting. Leave the horse at the stable and hand over the items (if you ride the horse to the inn, the necessary dialogue option will disappear). As a reward, you will receive the following items:

  • The heraldic shield of the Lord of Gologlav.
  • Jezek's spurs.
  • Groschen (500).
