Kingdom Come Deliverance 2: The White Roebuck Walkthrough

The huntsman of the Suchdol fortress in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has a serious problem. A gang of poachers is operating in the forests of Kuttenberg, and they have started to exterminate rare animals. In the medieval times, such actions were severely punished by law, as the forests and everything in them belonged to the local ruler. Players need to deal with the poachers and make an important decision: what to do with the hide of the legendary white roebuck, which became a victim of their illegal activities.

How to Start the Quest The White Roebuck

In the Kuttenberg region, head to the fortress located near the village of Suchdol. In the center, near the tournament grounds, find Centurion Frenzel and ask if he has any work for you. He will tell you the alarming news: someone has killed a rare white roebuck in the surrounding forests. The centurion will advise you to discuss this matter with the fortress huntsman.

Huntsman Debros Pero, after listening to your questions, will ask for your help: to retrieve the white roebuck's hide and deal with the poachers and their leader Mach from Marshovice. He also mentioned that as proof of their elimination, you need to bring rabbit pelts taken from their bodies. For more information about the poachers' camp, the huntsman will recommend visiting the local skinner. The quest will begin as soon as you agree to help the huntsman.

Find Out What the Skinner Knows About the Poachers

Leave the fortress and head to the local church. There you will find the skinner Wolfram. Ask him what he knows about the poachers. When you inquire about their whereabouts, Wolfram will want something in return. You will have a choice: pay him or attempt a persuasion check.

If you manage to negotiate, the skinner will tell you that the poachers are hiding in the forests northwest of Suchdol. Additionally, he will offer you a lucrative deal: bring him the white roebuck's hide instead of giving it to the huntsman. In return, Wolfram promises to share the profit with you.

Find the Poachers' Camp

Leave the church grounds and turn right. Follow the main road to the nearest roadside chapel. At the crossroads, turn right and continue until the road intersects with a stream. Here, turn left and follow along the stream. Soon, you will discover the poachers' camp. We recommend going along the left side of the stream: this will allow you to be on higher ground, giving you a strategic advantage when approaching the camp.

Find the White Roebuck's Hide

In the camp, you will encounter three fighters. If you decide to engage in combat, you have several options. You can use ranged weapons, attacking from a height, which will give you an advantage. Another way is to lure the enemies into a ruined hut, where the confined space will allow you to fight them one-on-one. You can also sneak up on the enemies at night and eliminate them from behind, acting stealthily.

For those who prefer unconventional solutions, there is a more complex but interesting option: you can try to steal a rabbit's foot from each poacher and then unlock the chest to take the hide without killing anyone. Inside the chest, besides the hide, you will find a valuable poachers' map with marked places where game can be found in the surrounding forests.

Additionally, as you leave the poachers' camp after finding the hide, you might encounter a white roebuck. If you decide to kill it, keep in mind: the hide of this roebuck cannot be used to complete the quest, but it can be sold to traders for a substantial amount. However, remember that this is likely the last white roebuck in the local forests, and your choice will weigh on your conscience.

Bring the White Roebuck's Hide to the Huntsman

Return to the Suchdol fortress and report to the huntsman about the completion of the task. You will receive a well-deserved reward — a small sum of money. Additionally, your reputation will increase if you inform the huntsman about the encounter with another white roebuck or about the skinner Wolfram's offer to buy the hide from you. This will conclude the quest.

During the quest, after obtaining the hide, you have the opportunity to receive a reward from two characters: the skinner and the huntsman. To do this, you need to sell the hide to the skinner. Then, you need to steal it back. After that, you can take the stolen hide to the huntsman to receive your deserved reward.

Return to the Suchdol church. Find the skinner Wolfram and sell him the white roebuck's hide. He will gratefully accept it and give you a monetary reward for your efforts. This will conclude the quest.

Alternative Quest Completion

Before heading out to complete the quest, you can sneak into the poachers' camp in advance and obtain valuable trophies. Bring the white roebuck's hide and rabbit's feet to the huntsman at the Suchdol fortress to receive your deserved reward. However, note that in this case, you will not be able to sell the hide to the skinner, and the attempt to receive two rewards will be unavailable.
