Gothic 1 Remake Interactive Map Guide

In the world of Gothic 1 Remake, it is easy to get lost: there are many camps, hidden caves, chests, traders, skill teachers, quest items, and obscure passages. The interactive Valley of Mines map can make your playthrough much easier. In this guide, we will explain where to open the Gothic 1 Remake interactive map, how to use its filters, and what markers it includes, from weapons, armor, and resources to characters, quests, and crafting stations.

Gothic 1 Remake Interactive Map: How to Use It and What It Shows

The Gothic 1 Remake interactive map shows the main points of interest across the Colony: camps, caves, transitions between areas, chests, resources, weapons, armor, NPCs, skill teachers, traders, and quests.

The map is divided into six parts: the main map in the center and five separate maps around it, including the Old Camp, New Camp, and other key locations. This format makes it easy to switch between large areas and study individual zones in detail.

The controls are standard: you can zoom with the mouse wheel or with the + and — buttons in the lower-right corner of the screen. If you hold the left mouse button, you can drag the map around the screen. All parts of the map move at the same time.

The main interface panel is located on the right. Using the search bar, filters, and category list, you can quickly enable the markers you need and hide unnecessary icons.

When you click a marker, it usually opens extra information: the object's name, description, location hint, or image. This helps you understand exactly where the item is and how to reach it.

The map is especially useful early in the game, when the hero is still weak and safe routes between camps are not yet familiar.

Interface Elements

  • Search bar lets you find the location, quest, item, character, or other object you need. Names must be entered in English. After that, the map will show the location of the searched object, as well as everything connected to it. For example, a character may also display related quests, items, or other objects. Results will also appear as a list under the search bar.
  • Show all displays all available icons on the map, while Hide all hides them. Before looking for a specific object, it is usually more convenient to click Hide all first, then manually enable only the categories you need.
  • Under the search bar, markers are grouped by category. You can enable and disable them individually. For example, if you click the Blacksmith marker, all blacksmiths will appear on the map. If you click the name of a marker group, the map will show every object that belongs to that group. For example, selecting the NPC category will display blacksmiths, traders, teachers, and other important characters. The most convenient approach is to hide all icons first, then enable categories one by one. This keeps the map from becoming overloaded with markers and helps you find the object you need faster.
