Jack, an engineer and one of the key characters in Graveyard Keeper 2, plays an important role throughout the story. Completing his questline not only moves the main plot forward but also helps you rebuild the ruined Town and unlock new areas. In this guide, we'll go through every quest in Jack's storyline and explain how to complete each one.
Jack in a Boat
You first meet Jack after meeting Herm and returning home. The next morning, a message from him will appear in your quest log. Jack says he is ready to build a boat as long as you provide the necessary materials.
To speak with Jack in person and find out what he needs, head to Twins' Land. He will ask you to bring two types of materials for the boat:
- Five Wooden Planks.
- Five Bronze Details.
Once Jack has the required resources, you need to find two people willing to row the boat. Complete Rowing for Jack in the twins' questline, then return to Jack.
After meeting all the requirements, speak with Jack and choose the following dialogue option:
- So you're to set sail?
You'll then see the boat depart. All that's left is to wait for news. The twins return two days after setting sail. Once they are back, you can read Jack's letter and watch the cutscene.
The letter unlocks the Magic bell recipe and the A Man of Many Talents achievement. This completes Jack's first quest.
Docked and Found
The second quest in Jack's storyline begins immediately after Herbert's first successful counterattack. Head to the Port, where Jack will be waiting for you on the bridge and will ask whether the structure is safe.
During the conversation, Jack tells you about the Astrologer Gunter, who has taken shelter in the Observatory, then heads toward the Warehouse. Follow him there, step away from the Warehouse entrance, and speak with the Trademaster, who insists that the supplies inside belong to the Town.
Once you enter the Warehouse, it becomes clear that there are no supplies left at all, prompting the Trademaster to say that a new trade ship will have to be built.
Speak with Jack inside the Warehouse. During the conversation, he mentions the abandoned Quarry and the Old Mine located in the Forest west of the Village. Traveling there leads to your first meeting with the Village guards and Januarius. This completes the second quest in Jack's storyline.
Workshop Hours
To complete the next quest in Jack's storyline, you need to accept his Supply: Iron Town Order from the board inside the Warehouse. Jack asks you to deliver one supply crate, which requires:
- 6 Iron Ingots.
- 4 Boards.
- 8 Bronze Nails.
Deliver the finished crate to the Warehouse and complete the order, then speak with Jack. You'll receive 10 reputation with Jack and 1 Town Gratitude.
Jack's Back in Business
After winning the battle at the Town Square, you finally regain access to the Workshop that Jack used to run. Go inside and speak with him. For getting Jack back into his Workshop, you'll receive 10 reputation, 2 Town Gratitude, and 1 Story.
Jack will then give you another separate quest called Give Materials. To fully restore the Workshop, bring him:
- 5 Building Kit I.
- 5 Wooden Kit I.
After handing over the materials, you'll receive another 10 reputation and 2 Town Gratitude. By this point, your reputation with Jack will reach 60, which is enough for him to sign Gunter's agreement.
Stars, Lies, & Contracts
Although this quest belongs to Gunter's questline, Jack plays a direct role in it because you need to convince him to sign a PR Agreement for the Restore the Town campaign.
You can only do this if your reputation with Jack is at least 60. Once Jack signs the agreement, return to Gunter to complete the quest.
Front-of-the-Envelope Calculation
This quest begins after completing Campaign of Thrones, when Jack asks you to visit him at the Town Workshop to discuss the election.
During the conversation, choose the following dialogue options:
- Look at the calculation.
- The second problem?
- Ask about the water tunnel.
You need at least 60 reputation with Jack to discuss his calculations and continue the conversation, so make sure you have reached that threshold before speaking with him.
Finishing the conversation starts a couple of quests involving other characters. You'll need to complete them before you can continue Jack's storyline.
Man of Steel
During this quest, you need to visit the Royal Foundry and speak with the Bishop there about the quality of the steel being produced. After the conversation, buy three Steel Ingots from him and bring them back to Jack to prepare for the next quest.
Factory Tour
This quest continues the previous storyline and requires you to raise Factory quality to 20. Once you reach the required value, visit Jack at the Town Workshop and invite him on a tour.
After seeing that the Factory is in proper working order, Jack will reward you with 10 reputation.
More Portal Parts
The final quest in Jack's storyline unlocks after you install the Lust fragment in the portal. Visit Jack at the Town Workshop and start the Portal fragment conversation. The first dialogue requires at least 60 reputation with Jack.
To convince Jack to hand over the stone, you'll need 80 reputation. Once you reach that threshold, he gives you Portal fragment Pride.
You can then return to Gunter's Tower and insert the new fragment into the portal frame. This completes Jack's questline.
