Redditor IlmeniAVG created his own TOP-1000 list of the best games in history. The list is based on more than 700 similar ratings compiled by professional publications and prestigious ceremonies.
The ranking includes various lists: traditional annual selections, the best titles of the past decade, or of all time. The methodology is described in detail on Reddit.
The first place was predictably taken by The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, the second place went to The Last of Us, and the top three was rounded out by the 1985 game Tetris. The list was closed by Wizardry VII: Crusaders of the Dark Savant.
During his research, the user discovered a few more details. For instance, the most productive decade was the 2010s (288 games on the list), but the best year was 1999 (37 games on the list). The title of the main console family, where most of the games from the list were released, went to PlayStation.
