Nightdive Studios, the team behind the revival, remasters, and remake of System Shock, is deliberately avoiding turning the franchise into a commercial product full of mass-market merchandise. Despite being one of the most iconic series in PC gaming history, System Shock has virtually no official “merch life”: there are no board games, figures, comics, books, TV shows, or even the kind of standard merch you see with other franchises.

What was meant to be a dream project turned into a nightmare for Nightdive Studios. Development of System Shock Remake stretched over eight years, marked by cancellations, restarts, and relentless pressure from the community.
