War Thunder Review
When War Thunder first launched in 2012, it seemed like a niche pastime for people who loved debating the thickness of the T-34’s armor. Many years have passed, and the game has evolved into one of the largest online military sandboxes on the market. First came the planes. Then the tanks. Next came ships, helicopters, modern air defense systems, drones, and precision-guided missiles. At some point, War Thunder ceased to be just a game about military hardware and became a digital archive of military evolution. However, the more impressive this behemoth becomes, the more glaringly its flaws are revealed. Today, Gaijin Entertainment’s project still holds a unique position in the market, but at the same time continues to frustrate its own audience with alarming consistency. And therein, perhaps, lies the essence of War Thunder. Let’s take a closer look at what this phenomenon is and how it’s played.

Daredevil: Born Again — Season 2 Review
The first season of Daredevil: Born Again turned out to be much better than anyone could have expected. Disney managed to preserve the story’s dark tone, the familiar character designs, and the signature atmosphere. That said, it wasn’t without its hiccups. Initially, this soft reboot was supposed to consist of more than ten episodes. In the end, they abandoned that plan, splitting the runtime into two seasons. Essentially, we have one big story with a logical beginning and end, divided into two unequal parts. This naturally led to the first season dragging on for far too long and failing to offer viewers any particularly memorable moments. The second, however, promised to bring all the resolutions together. Seasons aren’t usually split up like this. Let’s discuss the second season of Daredevil: Reborn and figure out if it’s worth watching, even if the first one didn’t impress.

Monarch: Legacy of Monsters Review
Many fans of the Godzilla films missed the second season of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters. The thing is, the creators of the MonsterVerse decided to expand their universe not through monsters, but through people. Films about Godzilla and King Kong have traditionally lacked dramatic depth, so the idea isn’t bad overall. However, not everyone was pleased with the execution. We at VGTimes didn’t cover the first season, so now I’ll share my overall impressions of the two seasons of this project. Is it worth spending time on Apple’s new series? What are its strengths and weaknesses? Find out more in this review.

Review of the animated series Stranger Things: Tales from '85. A nice treat for fans of the original who are feeling nostalgic
The animated spin-off of Stranger Things was announced back in 2022, but a lot has happened since then. The final season of the main series turned out to be highly controversial, but by that point the animated series was practically finished, and it was too late to change anything. As a result, Stranger Things: Tales from '85 found itself in a very difficult position, caught between the reactions to the original ending and viewers whose interest had sharply declined. I’ll discuss below how the new show turned out and whether it’s worth your time, even if the battle with the Vecna didn’t quite land.

Replaced is a new 2D platformer. Don’t let the pixel art fool you. This is a major debut project from the Belarusian studio Sad Cat Studios, released after several delays. This new title combines the gameplay of Uncharted, the combat system of Batman: Arkham, and the style of Blade Runner. We definitely couldn’t pass this up—and now we’re sharing our impressions with you.

Black Desert Review
The famous MMORPG Black Desert in 2026 is a strange, almost unnatural product that has somehow miraculously survived in an industry where projects with budgets rivaling space missions die in less than six months. The game is not just alive — it functions steadily, receives updates, and retains an audience that either genuinely loves it or simply can no longer stop. But what if you decided to try this hit today? After all, the much-talked-about Crimson Desert was born from its online predecessor, so getting acquainted with Pearl Abyss’s original project is at least interesting. What does Black Desert feel like for a newcomer in 2026, especially on PS5 — I’ll explain in this article.

The Boys Season 5 Finale: Who Will Survive, How It Will End, and Who the Real Villain Is
The premiere of the final season of The Boys — one of the most important events not only of spring 2026, but of the TV world in general. Back in the day, the project made a huge splash and is now approaching its conclusion at its peak. No 15-season stretch: the story of all key characters has been almost fully told. Naturally, after the trailers dropped, many began crafting theories about the finale. I’m familiar with all of them. It also became очевидous that the ending of the series and the original comic will differ significantly, so relying on the source material is pointless. We decided to approach the question differently and waited for the first two episodes before throwing around predictions. As it turns out, not in vain — most "leaked plots" and theories fell apart right from the start. Now it’s time to genuinely speculate on what the real ending of The Boys will be, who survives, and why the main villain might surprise you. All the details — below.

Plot Breakdown of Reanimal — Ending Explained, Theories, and Hidden Meaning
The plot of Reanimal is one of the most discussed topics after release. Many players are trying to understand what is actually happening in the story, how the events are connected, and what the ending means. At the same time, the game provides almost no direct answers, forcing you to piece the narrative together from fragments. Tarsier Studios, known for the Little Nightmares series, once again uses a familiar approach: minimal explanations, maximum symbolism and hints. As a result, a playthrough of Reanimal leaves more questions than answers, and the true ending only complicates the understanding of the story. I have analyzed the plot of Reanimal in detail, explained the ending, and compiled key theories. In this material — a full breakdown of the story and an attempt to understand what the developers wanted to say.

Review of One Piece Season 2 on Netflix: Is the Sequel Worth Watching?
The second season of One Piece on Netflix was released three years after the громкий success of the first and once again drew the attention of viewers and critics. The live-action adaptation of the popular anime became an unexpected hit in 2023, proving that such projects can actually work. However, things are less straightforward with the sequel: the ratings remain high, but the audience hype has noticeably declined. I approached Season 2 with optimism, but ended up with rather mixed impressions. And I think I understand why.

Trail Out Review for PS5
CIS game development is still trying to get back on its feet, but it’s only fair to admit that the number of notable, and sometimes even impressive, projects is growing. However, making a good game is one thing, and entering the Western market is another. Today we’re talking about a racing game from the studio GOOD BOYS — Trail Out, which was recently released on PS5. Such a success is a noticeable achievement and a form of recognition, because on Sony consoles, unlike Steam, you don’t usually see small local indie projects for five and a half players — only hits of varying scale. I missed the project back in the day, so this is my first time experiencing it, and I’m ready to share my impressions.

Review of Guy Ritchie’s series Young Sherlock
Detective Sherlock Holmes is almost as popular in the media space as superheroes. This is one of those rare cases when all the books and stories were written long ago, yet adaptations keep appearing anyway. At the same time, many of these versions of the character truly stand out and bring something completely new to the familiar image. However, if you think about it, when modern viewers hear the name Sherlock Holmes, they will most likely think of the interpretations by Benedict Cumberbatch, Vasily Livanov, perhaps Jeremy Brett, and of course Robert Downey Jr. It just so happened that the other versions, even the good ones, didn’t really stay in the public consciousness. Which makes it all the more interesting that the director of the films with Downey Jr. — Guy Ritchie — decided to return to the character and started working on a completely new project about the youth of the iconic detective. Today we’ll talk about the series Young Sherlock and discuss whether this adaptation will manage to stay in people’s minds.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Review
After the controversial finale of Game of Thrones, the newly minted franchise suddenly had nowhere to go. Video games based on the universe failed to take off, and the sequel got stuck in development hell. New content abruptly ran out. But not so fast, because savvy producers remembered that George R. R. Martin has an entire encyclopedia about the life of the Seven Kingdoms before the events of the books. That’s how the series House of the Dragon was born — less grand in scale, but with actual living dragons. The project has already received three seasons, but there’s a catch — it will have to wrap up with the fourth. And it’s fortunate that Martin is busy with anything except writing his flagship series. For example, short stories about the hedge knight Duncan the Tall, who travels across the Kingdoms in the period between the events of House of the Dragon and Game of Thrones. Recently, another series saw the light of day — A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, which is based on the very first of those stories. The creators are happily planning to stretch the runtime to as many as 16 seasons. And the audience doesn’t mind. Believe it or not, this project is one of the best fantasy shows not only of 2026, but in general. Let me explain why.

Reanimal Review
After a series of bureaucratic complications, Tarsier Studios lost its main IP — Little Nightmares. The developers stated that they wanted to move forward and create something different, unrelated to the well-known series. Meanwhile, the little nightmares continued to live on in the hands of Supermassive Games. The new project from Tarsier Studios received the promising title Reanimal, which can very loosely be deciphered as "rebirth into a beast". Before release, many journalists predicted that Reanimal would become a hit and bring back "those very little nightmares", since Little Nightmares 3 failed to gain recognition. In this review, I will try to analyze whether the developers truly fulfilled their promise to create something different, and also reflect on whether metaphor is really as good as a coherent story.

Return to Silent Hill Review
Return to Silent Hill is Christophe Gans’s second attempt to adapt the famous game series for the screen. The film Silent Hill loosely drew on the first game and received restrained critical reception, while Silent Hill: Revelation is generally considered something best not mentioned in polite company. That said, it was made by different people. Now, however, it is time for a new release that follows the plot of Silent Hill 2. Although follows is probably far too generous a compliment for this film. It would be more accurate to say that it mocks it. I, the author of these lines, watched Return to Silent Hill so that you would not have to. Details below.

TOP-30 Most Anticipated Movies and TV Shows of 2026
The newly arrived year 2026 will bring us plenty of memorable games and, possibly, even GTA 6. However, delays happen far too often in the video game industry, so nothing can really be taken for granted. Movies and TV series are a different story. Studios fight for theatrical release windows well in advance and keep dates secret until the very last moment. Already in January, we can roughly imagine what awaits us on both big and small screens almost until next December. And it has to be said, this year looks exceptionally epic, so I’ve prepared the ultimate top 30 most anticipated movies and TV series, just so you don’t miss anything.

TOP-10 Games of 2025 with the Best Graphics
The past year, 2025, was rich in visually stunning games, but some of them proved to be truly impressive. It’s important to understand that this is not just about polygon counts. Most more or less well-known projects handle that just fine. Here, we are talking about graphics as an artistic language that complements gameplay. Modern technologies have reached a level where it can sometimes be difficult to distinguish a real photograph from the natural beauty of a fictional world. But when that beauty provides an additional layer of sensations and impressions, real magic happens. We decided to recall ten of the most visually memorable projects of 2025 that impressed us more than the rest.

Stranger Things Season 5 Final Episode Review — Simply magnificent
The finale of Stranger Things has happened. The eighth episode of the fifth season was released worldwide on December 31. Before the premiere, there were plenty of concerns that the Duffer Brothers wouldn’t manage to wrap up the story in a logical and engaging way, but now all doubts are in the past. I did breakdowns of both parts of the fifth season for you and wrote that if the ending turned out to be worthy, I would be the first to say so. It’s oddly satisfying to realize that I actually have to keep that promise. What we have here is one of the best series finales ever — large-scale, emotional, and endlessly touching. This is a rare case where the creators somehow avoided drowning in their own mistakes and instead demonstrated craftsmanship and respect for audience expectations. And even if the techniques aren’t always original and the plot feels a bit simplistic compared to fan theories, damn it, it worked. I say this responsibly — you owe it to yourself to see how Netflix’s flagship series actually ended.

Stranger Things Season 5 — Second part of the show Review
December is relentlessly approaching its end, and with it the main event of the small-screen industry — the final season of Stranger Things. On the 25th, and for some on the 26th, the second part of the fifth season was released, that is, episodes five through seven inclusive. One final episode remains, and that’s it. In terms of scale, what’s happening is comparable to the eighth season of Game of Thrones. Unfortunately, such a parallel comes to mind not only because of the public’s universal interest, but also because of the disappointment that same audience experiences while watching. As sad as it is to say, Netflix’s flagship has huge problems that are unlikely to be fixed by the final two hours of runtime. I’ll go into everything in more detail, and you can draw your own conclusions.

It: Welcome to Derry Review. Pennywise is back in business
It: Welcome to Derry is a case where no one really expected anything special from the project. The premiere of the prequel series to one of Stephen King’s most famous stories passed without much hype. However, things gradually began to change. With each new episode, the audience grew, and discussions around the project became more frequent. By the finale of the first season, It: Welcome to Derry had turned into a hit, which many even considered more promising than Netflix’s unsinkable flagship — Stranger Things. Which is ironic, given that Max will soon become the property of the "big N". In this article, we’ll discuss one of the most unexpected dark horses of 2025, which ultimately turned out to be deeper than anyone could have expected — but not necessarily more interesting.

TOP 15 cool games for PlayStation VR 2 worth playing in 2025: from fitness to a car-hunting simulator
Unfortunately, virtual reality technology still hasn’t revolutionized the gaming industry. Projects released on various devices are either primitive or tailored to a very specific model, which significantly reduces their potential audience. Nevertheless, PlayStation VR 2 — a headset for the console of the same name — is still capable of offering an intriguing experience that cannot be obtained otherwise (unless, of course, you own a powerful PC and a headset for it). Netflix Bought Warner Bros. (Almost) — discussing why this is a bad scenario and what to expect in the future
Over the past couple of weeks, the media have been actively discussing the biggest event in cinema — the sale of Warner Bros. We also published an article about the prospects that might await the industry and Warner’s major franchises. However, the situation has changed. What many feared has happened. Netflix has practically bought one of the oldest studios for a staggering $82.7 billion. Everything is almost settled, unless antitrust regulators intervene, who will in any case review the deal, or unless other unexpected circumstances arise. There is also, admittedly, a chance of pressure from U.S. President Donald Trump, but we will discuss that later. The fact remains — the streaming service has acquired (almost) one of the pillars of world cinema. What will happen to films and TV series now? Let’s reason it out in the article below.

Nearly 10 years after the release of the original, Zootopia 2 has finally seen the light of day. TOP-30 Best Jackie Chan Films — All Facets of the King of Action Comedy
It’s hard to find an actor who appeals to everyone, is an all-around good guy, and a master of his craft. Besides Keanu Reeves, the only other name that immediately comes to mind is Jackie Chan. That’s exactly who we’re talking about today. The Hong Kong martial arts master and megastar is already over 70, but he isn’t even considering retiring. Known for his action comedies, Jackie has proven he can be completely different, yet those older films are the ones that shaped his image into what every person on Earth recognizes. Today we’ll revisit the top-30 best films of this legendary master. Most of them aren’t new anymore, but that’s part of their charm. Considering that Jackie performed all the stunts himself without CGI, any one of these films still looks impressive today.

Stranger Things Season 5 — The first part of the Show Review
The finale of Stranger Things is undoubtedly the main event of the film industry in 2025. And not only among TV shows, but movies too. Hard to believe the first episode came out in 2016. And now, nine years later, we’ve finally reached the concluding chapters. Netflix knows exactly what’s at stake. If the season succeeds, people will forgive the company both the overly agenda-driven The Witcher and plenty of other questionable decisions. What will happen if things go off the rails… better not imagine. That’s why the creative duo behind the show, the Duffer Brothers, were given as much money and freedom as humanly possible. Naturally, the streaming service couldn’t release all episodes at once, so the finale was split into three parts. I’ve already watched the first four episodes, and you and I are in for a long, complicated conversation.

The Last Adventure of Warner Bros., or the Biggest Sale of the Century. What Will Happen to Hogwarts, Gotham, Middle-earth, and the Targaryens Under New Owners?
The entertainment world stands on the verge of another seismic shift. Three years after the WarnerMedia–Discovery merger, the leadership of Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) announced a strategic pivot — and this is not just an abstract statement. The company is officially considering options for selling either the entire corporation or parts of its assets. At stake are some of the most powerful cultural and commercial franchises: from the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and Middle-earth to the revamped DC Universe under James Gunn and House of the Dragon. And let us not forget the giant’s vault of video games — series that have either already achieved modern-classic status or are poised to do so. As a journalist and critic, I see in this not merely a financial transaction but a potential transformation of the creative landscape. Who will become the new owner of this intellectual property, and how will our beloved industry change? Let us take a closer look.

Review of The Witcher Season 4: How Netflix Ruined Its Main Fantasy Series
Bow down or just run in terror — for it has arrived, The Witcher Season 4 by Netflix. Yes, it really happened. To give the creators their due, by the time of release even the most neutral critics had stopped believing in the show’s success. Phenomenal. One of the most promising fantasy projects has long been writhing in its death throes. Unsurprisingly, the season was flooded with criticism and practically drowned in dislikes. And as if that weren’t enough, Netflix also released a standalone film about the Rats gang, which was originally meant to be a spin-off series — but, once again, something went wrong. Still, dissecting The Witcher is fascinating from an academic standpoint, because it’s a perfect case study of what can happen to a great story when it’s handled by people who don’t understand the source material and have no sense for the author’s tone. That’s exactly what we’ll be doing here.

Review of Sword of the Sea — a charming indie project with a sword instead of a skateboard from the art director of Journey
Sword of the Sea is a new game from the niche-favorite studio Giant Squid.
