There are many games in the world in which the gamer looks at his hero from above: such games are called isometric (if the camera is placed diagonally) or with a camera from above. Unfortunately, in them it is often impossible to examine in detail everything that you encounter in front of you, so recently only indies often come out with such a look (there are exceptions).
And yet, before there were a lot of games where you had to look down on the main character: these were tactical strategies, RPGs, shooters, and simulators. In all of them, the action taking place on a large scale came to the fore, but the graphics were no longer so important.
This list contains the best top-down (as well as isometric) games, without reference to release date or genre.
