Great game! I like the more modern feel of the game. Gothic is more of a survival game, where you're caught in the night on your way to a swamp camp and you settle down for the night in a cave, roasting some scavenged carrion meat, then settling down to sleep by the cozy crackle of a fire. But in reality, you don't have to do that; you can just run through the darkness with a torch if you already know the way. But you want to do it because it feels good and greatly enhances immersion. That's what's special about Gothic: it doesn't force you to immerse yourself in the role, but it provides all the conditions for it.

Игра выглядит более современно мне нравиться.Готике это скорее игра в выживание, когда тебя по дороге в болотный лагерь застаёт ночь и ты устраиваешься на ночлег в пещере, где жаришь добытое тобой мясо падальщика, а затем укладываешься спать под уютный треск костра. Но по факту ты можешь этого и не делать, а просто пробежать через темноту с факелом, если уже знаешь дорогу. Но ты хочешь это делать, потому что это приятно и сильно влияет на погружение. В этом особенность Готики: она не заставляет тебя вживаться в роль, но предоставляет для этого все условия.

I'm still playing the game on Xbox Series X. This is my first time playing it; I've never played the original Gothic games before, and I'm not a fan or a diehard fanatic. Gothic 1 Remake is, overall, a good product, significantly improved on all fronts. I had one major complaint about the developers: the lack of 60 FPS and performance modes at launch on older Xbox consoles and PS5 (it's slightly better now, and the FPS stays around 50 with the "unlocked" performance mode. Overall, an 8/10 is the ceiling for this game, and an excellent result, in my opinion).
Ещё прохожу игру на Xbox Series X. Прохожу впервые, в оригинальные игры серии Gothic ранее не играл, не фанат и не фанатик. Gothic 1 Remake, в целом, хороший продукт, качественно улучшенный по всем м фронтам. Глобальная претензия к разработчикам была одна — это отсутствие 60 FPS и режимов работы игры на старте продаж на старших версиях консолей Xbox и PS5 (сейчас уже немного лучше и FPS держится в пределах 50 при «нефиксированном» режиме производительности. В целом и общем — 8/10 — это полоток для этой игры и это отличный результат, как мне кажется)
I probably played through the old Gothic five times. For me, it's a childhood game, with all its flaws, bugs, and clunky animations. So I approached the remake with both hope and apprehension: how could they ruin it?
I'll put it this way: they didn't ruin it. But I wouldn't call it perfect either.
The first thing that pleased me was that the world felt familiar from the very first minutes. The same colony, the same camp by the stream, the same NPC faces. Diego speaks with the same voice (special thanks for that), and when he sends you out to get junk again, you feel right at home. The developers didn't turn Gothic into a Disneyland; they didn't soften the characters. They're still just as prickly and mischievous, but with their own charm.

Скажу так: не испортили. Но и идеальным назвать язык не поворачивается.

I hadn't played the original. My only familiarity with Gothic was the title itself. I knew it had once been a good and beloved series, but given its venerable age, I was unlikely to have gotten to know it more closely. So the remake immediately caught my attention. The remake turned out really well! The controls are much more enjoyable, but that hack implemented in the game is just awful!! There was also a funny moment with the miners who didn't disappear after the quest, but there was a way to get rid of them, albeit through hacks. Overall, a pleasant new journey through the classics!

Great remake! The systems could have been a bit smaller. I liked that they captured the spirit of the original. But I didn't like the technical aspects; they have so much technology and time now, and they still haven't learned how to release a game without serious bugs.

It's a cool game, I spent many hours on it. At first, I couldn't understand the game's fun, but then I got into it and didn't notice how I spent the whole night playing it. Then I had to go to work without sleeping. I recommend this game to everyone.

I haven't played Gothic for 25 years, waiting for a remake. Overall, it's great, and there's a Russian localization, which is a rarity these days. The downside is the lockpicking; modding is a must.

After several hours with the remake, I can say one thing: the developers have truly captured the spirit of classic Gothic. The atmosphere, music, dark world, sense of danger, and gradual character development feel exactly as I remember from the original.
At the same time, the game doesn't feel dated: the graphics, animations, and combat system have become more modern, but they haven't lost the atmosphere that made Gothic so beloved. Exploring the colony is engaging, the world feels alive, and encounters with enemies still require caution.
If the final version maintains this level of quality, it will be the remake fans of the series have been waiting for.

После нескольких часов в ремейке могу сказать одно -разработчикам действительно удалось передать дух классической Gothic. Атмосфера, музыка, мрачный мир, чувство опасности и постепенное развитие персонажа ощущаются именно так, как я помню по оригиналу.
При этом игра не выглядит устаревшей: графика, анимации и боевая система стали современнее, но не потеряли ту самую атмосферу, за которую многие полюбили Gothic. Исследовать колонию интересно, мир кажется живым, а встречи с врагами по-прежнему заставляют быть осторожным.
Если финальная версия сохранит этот уровень качества, то это будет именно тот ремейк, которого поклонники серии ждали долгие годы.

An excellent remake. This is the first remake I've really enjoyed. The problem is that developers usually overhaul games in remakes, so it's a completely different game, and at best, you play through it once and forget about it with a slight feeling of disappointment. But here I play and enjoy every minute. It feels like a new game, but with a sense of déjà vu. It doesn't feel like you're playing through something you've played dozens of times before.
