The new Assassin's Creed Shadows features a large story about two characters and numerous side quests. Not all story missions are easy to navigate, so we have prepared this guide to walk you through the main quests, additional quests, and provide a list of useful guides to simplify your experience and assist you in difficult moments.

What the Story of Assassin's Creed Shadows Consists Of

The main storyline consists of five chapters:

Prologue
Act 1
Act 2
Act 3
Epilogue

To complete the story, you need to defeat all 12 members of Onryo/Sinbafuku and complete all quests of Naoe, Yasuke, and Junjiro. The rest of the content, including side missions, is optional.

Most main quests can be completed in different orders. You can also focus on side quests to level up characters and recruit allies. Collect collectibles that give experience and skill points (called "Knowledge Points").

Structure of the playthrough:

Prologue — linear segment.
Act 1 — open world, continues until defeating 3 of the 12 Onryo members.
Act 2 — ends after eliminating all 12 Onryo/Sinbafuku. However, the trophy for this act can be obtained a bit earlier.
Act 3 — concludes the stories of Naoe, Yasuke, and Junjiro.
Epilogue — the end of the game.

Important: after completing the story, you can continue to complete additional quests — nothing disappears.

Recommendations for settings

To obtain all trophies and achievements, it is recommended to disable the "Exploration Guide" mode. Enabling this mode will not allow you to obtain the "Scouting Mission" trophy, as the scout function is disabled. All other achievements remain accessible.

After obtaining this trophy, you can enable the "Guide" mode in the settings. This does not affect the difficulty of the playthrough — all trophies can be obtained even on the easiest difficulty level.

Settings before starting the game:

Difficulty — any (for trophies, "Story Difficulty" will do).
Exploration Guide — disabled (can be enabled after obtaining the "Scouting Mission").
Canonical Mode — disabled (to not lose dialogue choices).
Immersive Mode — disabled (otherwise, characters will speak only in Japanese and Portuguese).
