How to Find the Puzzle
The puzzle is located on the lower level of the game world in a room called "The Precipice," location "Underground." It is a chessboard in the form of a 9x5 estate territory, and next to it are pieces:
- Pawn.
- Rook.
- Knight.
- Bishop.
- King.
- Queen.
There are two ways to get to this level.
Light Four Bowls
To do this, you need to:
- Solve the puzzle in the Utility Closet with the breaker box, then turn the valve in the Gemstone Cavern near the camp.
- Open the fuel supply from the pipe in the Apple Orchard behind the hero's tent.
- Turn on the gas from The Hovel and The Schoolhouse west of the estate (West Path). To do this, you need to open the Garage, then create these rooms on different days.
As a result, an elevator will appear on the platform among the lights, which can be used to descend.
Drain Water from the Fountain
This can be done as follows:
- Create the Boiler Room and solve the puzzle.
- Open the Pump Room and drain the water from the fountain.
- Assemble a Burning Glass from a Magnifying Glass and a Metal Detector in the Workshop.
- Descend under the fountain and find the room with an oval pedestal in the center, then light the candles around it.
Next, a spiral staircase will appear to the lower level, where you can access the chess puzzle.
How to Solve the Puzzle
The chessboard represents the layout of the mansion, where one square is equivalent to one room. Chess pieces stand next to the board. To solve the puzzle, the pieces need to match their position on the board.
The game has a number of rooms where different types of chess pieces are located. You need to open the rooms with all the pieces from the pawn to the queen in one run. Then go to the hall with the puzzle and arrange them according to the rooms on the board.
The order in which the rooms with pieces are opened and where they are located does not matter. Just remember which rooms contain pieces of a certain type. We also recommend using dice to increase the chances of opening the necessary rooms.

Besides being one of the most challenging tasks in the game, it is also the most rewarding. Solving the puzzle can yield a wide range of bonuses. Below is a detailed list of rewards:
- Ambition of pawns: Upon reaching level 8, you can choose daily between a knight, bishop, rook, or queen.
- Mantle of the knight: Unlocks the Armory (The Armory).
- Gambit of the queen: Each time you create a room on the west side of the house, you lose five steps and gain one key.
- Banner of the king: Every day you can choose the color of preferred rooms. Rooms of the chosen color are more frequently encountered.
- Piety of the bishop: No longer need to pay tithe. Instead, receive 30 coins daily upon first visiting the chapel.
- Resilience of the rook: If four corner rooms are built, you can refresh room choices up to four times.
You can select one effect that will work for all subsequent days. To change the bonus, you need to gather the rooms and pieces on the board again. If the knight effect is chosen, an arsenal appears where you can purchase useful items.
The effect of the Mantle of the Knight bonus when creating the Armory allows you to purchase:
- Morningstar: If you use it to break locks, you can earn one star the next day. Price: 8 coins.
- The Axe: The axe can permanently remove the gem fee from one of the rooms. Price: 32 coins.
- Knight's shield: Once a day, you can deactivate the negative effect of a red room. Price: 8 coins.
