Strange Antiquities puts you behind the counter of a small shop selling magical artifacts in the town of Undermere, whose residents occasionally need help from otherworldly forces. In this guide, we explain how to give the correct antique to each customer, provide a step-by-step walkthrough of the entire game, and give explanations for every relic. You will also learn where to find all exhibits and the solutions to all puzzles.

How to Play Strange Antiquities

The game is a shopkeeper simulator about running a store that sells mystical antiques. The shelves are filled with esoteric objects, each with its own unique property. Every day, people come into the shop and explain their problem. Your task is to choose the right artifact for them based on the customer's description.

There is a reference book at your workstation with descriptions for every item. In most cases, the customer will mention either the artifact's name or the properties it has. Then, using the customer's request and the information from the book, you need to find the correct relic.

Day 1

On the first day, you will have four customers. First, however, Eli White will enter the shop, give you a short briefing, and hand over the reference book.

To do this, open the atlas and choose the location you want to visit.

Thomas Pope

"If it's not too much trouble, find me a Hunter's Boon. I need a new one."

In the next subsection, we explain how the artifact search mechanic works.

How to Search for Artifacts

Thomas asked you to find Hunter's Boon. First, open the reference book and find the page describing the artifact. It says:

"Hunter's Boon is a very simple item. It grants its owner the strength of a predator, sharpens the senses, and increases agility. Relics like this are made from trophies taken from slain beasts. Parts of deadly predators are valued most highly. These items are usually left undecorated."

In this case, you need to look for a trophy body part from a predator. Find the wolf fang amulet on the second shelf from the left and click it with the right mouse button. This will open the artifact inspection menu. Below, we explain how it works:

Color and material. Shows what the item is made of: wood, clay, bronze, stone.

Touch. Describes the type of surface: smooth, rough, wet.

Smell and sound. Some items have a distinctive smell or make specific sounds.

Inner sensations. Some artifacts have a direct effect when touched. A person may feel a surge of strength, anxiety, or drowsiness.

Based on the description in the reference book, we can determine that Hunter's Boon is the wolf fang. It is a trophy body part from a predator, has no patterns, and grants the owner strength. Give the amulet to the customer, then ring the bell to invite the next one.

Jack Hungerford

"A creeping darkness has entered my house. They say a Shadow Hold will drive it out."

Shadow Hold

A Shadow Hold, or Oshadic vessel, is any container: a jar, vial or some kind of box. It can trap an Oshadic spirit. This phenomenon is also called the creeping darkness. The relic pulls it out of the shadows like poison from a wound. The item is decorated with an intricate pattern called a shadow catcher.

Find the clay vessel on the lower shelf to the right. Also note that the vial has the same shadow catcher design as the one shown in the reference book.

After Jack, the postman will come into the shop and give you a letter. The note says that some papers were found at the boat yard and that they may be of interest to the owner of the antique shop. In the next section, we explain where to find the map and how to move around the town.

How to Open the Town Map

Look under the counter and you will find a desk with side drawers. Pull the handle on the right, then pick up the compass and map. You can now move around the town. To do this, open the atlas and choose the location you want to visit.

After reading the postman's note, open the map and choose location No. 8, The Boat Yard on the northwestern coast. As a result, you will receive an artifact.

Now return to the desk by the counter and inspect the upper-left drawer. There, you will find a note.

"Reminder: I left several items in the cellar of the drinks seller from the shop next door."

Following the clue from the note, open the map and choose the section to the right of location No. 29, Strange Antiquities. This way, you will receive three more artifacts.

Place all artifacts you obtained while exploring the town on the shelves. You will not need them for now. Next, invite the next customer.

Stanley Hume

"I need the Oss-s-sic Ring."

Ossic Ring

"These rather eerie relics were originally offered as gifts to Korhen, the goddess of serpents. However, her cult declined, and the custom became obsolete. These items are now difficult to find, but some still wish to obtain them in order to ward off reptiles. Many claim they can hear Korhen's otherworldly hissing when they hold the Ossic Ring to their ear."

The artifact hangs on the central shelf to the right. The item is an amulet made of bones, so it can be called eerie. Also, if you listen to it closely, you can hear a snake hissing.

Edmund Bishop

"The ravens' behavior is worrying, to put it mildly. I had no intention of stopping by today, but something strange is happening. I want to understand what is going on. Perhaps the Voice of Cernunnos will calm me down... or have the opposite effect."

Voice of Cernunnos

"Any bronze torc imbued with special properties through enchantment is considered the Voice of Cernunnos. With this item, those who know how to use it can understand patterns in nature that are normally hidden from our sight."

A torc is a neck ornament, historically worn in Europe during the early and late Middle Ages. The ornate bronze artifact is located on the upper shelf to the left.

How to Restore Sanity

The sanity meter is located in the lower-right corner of the screen. It fills when you make mistakes. For example, when you give the wrong artifact or reach a dead end while exploring locations.

Strange Antiquities Complete Walkthrough

If the arrow reaches the red zone, a mini-game will begin. You will see a circle with bowls. On the left is the number of lives, and on the right are dice. Your task is to roll the dice and create the requested combination. To make it clearer, here is an example based on the screenshot below:

  • Left bowl: two identical symbols.
  • Top bowl: three identical symbols.
  • Bottom bowl: two cats.
  • Right bowl: moon.

You roll the dice and check which combination you got. In this situation, there is a moon, so you need to place it on the bowl. On the next roll, you need to satisfy the requirement of another bowl.

There are nine lives on the right side. They are lost when crosses appear in your combination. If you fill the entire meter, you will start over, and this will continue until you complete all the bowls. As a last resort, roll back to your latest save.
