Strange Antiquities Walkthrough — Complete Guide

Strange Antiquities Walkthrough — Complete Guide

Vladislav Sham

Strange Antiquities puts you behind the counter of a shop selling magical artifacts in the town of Andermere, whose residents occasionally need help from otherworldly forces. In this guide, we’ll tell you how to properly give out antiques to each customer, provide a step-by-step walkthrough of the entire game, and give explanations for each relic. You’ll also learn where to find all the exhibits and find solutions to all puzzles.

How to Play Strange Antiquities

The game is a simulator of a mystical antique shop owner. There are many esoteric items on the shelves, each with its own unique property. Every day people come to the shop and describe their problem. Your task is to select the right artifact for the customer based on their description.

There’s a reference book at your workstation with a description for each item. Usually, the client mentions the name of the artifact or its properties. Then, according to the customer’s request and the information from the book, you need to find the correct relic.

Day 1

On the first day, you’ll have four clients. But first, Eli White will come into the shop, give a brief introduction, and hand you the reference book.

Thomas Pope

If it’s not too much trouble, find me the Hunter’s Boon. I need a new one.

In the next section, we’ll explain how the artifact search mechanics work.

How to Search for Artifacts

Thomas asked for the Hunter’s Boon. First, open the reference book and find the page with the artifact’s description. It says:

The Hunter’s Boon is a very simple item. It grants the owner the power of a predator, sharpens the senses, and increases agility. Such relics are made from trophies taken from slain beasts. The most valued are parts from deadly predators. Usually, these items have no decorations.

In this case, you should look for a trophy part from a predator. So, find the wolf fang amulet on the second shelf from the left and click on it (RMB). This will open the artifact inspection menu. Next, we’ll describe how it works:

  1. Color and material. Indicates what the item is made of: wood, clay, bronze, stone.
  2. Touch. Describes the surface: smooth, rough, wet.
  3. Smell and sound. Some items have a distinct smell or make specific sounds.
  4. Inner sensations. Some artifacts have a direct effect when touched. A person might feel a surge of strength, anxiety, or drowsiness.
Strange Antiquities Walkthrough — Complete Guide

According to the reference book, we determined that the Hunter’s Boon is the wolf fang. Because it’s a trophy part of a predator’s body, has no patterns, and grants the owner power. Give the amulet to the client and, to invite the next one, ring the bell.

Jack Hungerford

A creeping darkness has entered my home. They say it can be banished by the Shadow Vessel.

Shadow Hold

The Shadow Hold, or Oshadik Vessel, is any container: a jar, vial, or some kind of box. It can be used to trap an Oshadik spirit. This phenomenon is also called creeping darkness. The relic draws it out of the shadows, like poison from a wound. The item is decorated with an intricate pattern known as a shadow catcher.

Find the clay vessel on the lower shelf to the right. Also note that the vial has the same dreamcatcher design as in the reference book.

Strange Antiquities Walkthrough — Complete Guide

After Jack, the postman will come into the shop and deliver a letter. The note says that some papers were found at the boat yard that might be of interest to the antique shop owner. In the next section, we’ll explain where to find the map and how to move around the city.

How to Open the City Map

Look under the counter and you’ll find a table with side drawers. Pull the handle on the right, pick up the compass and the map. Now you can move around the city. To do this, open the atlas and choose the location you want to go to.

Strange Antiquities Walkthrough — Complete Guide

After reading the note from the postman, open the map and select Location #8 The Boat Yard on the northwest coast. As a result, you’ll receive an artifact.

Strange Antiquities Walkthrough — Complete Guide

Now return to the table by the counter and inspect the upper left drawer. There you’ll find a note.

Reminder: I left several items in the cellar of the drink seller from the neighboring shop.

Strange Antiquities Walkthrough — Complete Guide

Following the hint from the note, open the map and choose the section to the right of Location #29 Strange Antiquities. This way you’ll get three more artifacts.

Strange Antiquities Walkthrough — Complete Guide

Place all the artifacts you found during your city exploration on the shelves. You won’t need them yet. Next, invite the next customer.

Stanley Hume

I need the Ossic Ring.

Ossic Ring

Originally, these creepy relics were offered as gifts to the serpent goddess Korkhen. However, her cult degenerated, and the custom became obsolete. Now such items are hard to find, but some people want to get them to ward off snakes.

Many claim to hear the otherworldly hiss of Korkhen when they hold the Ossic Ring to their ear. The artifact hangs on the central shelf to the right. The item is a bone amulet, so it can be called creepy. Also, if you listen closely, you can hear the hiss of a snake.

Edmund Bishop

The behavior of the crows is, to put it mildly, disturbing. Actually, I wasn’t planning to come in today, but something strange is happening. I want to understand what’s going on. Maybe the Voice of Cernunnos will calm me… or have the opposite effect.

Voice of Cernunnos

The Voice of Cernunnos is considered to be any bronze torc endowed with special properties through enchantments. With this item, those in the know can comprehend the laws of nature that are usually hidden from our eyes.

A torc is a masculine neck ornament. It was worn in Europe during the early and late Middle Ages. The ornate bronze artifact is located on the top shelf to the left.

Strange Antiquities Walkthrough — Complete Guide

How to Restore Sanity

There is a sanity meter in the lower right corner of the screen. It fills up when you make mistakes. For example, if you give out the wrong artifact or get stuck while exploring locations.

Strange Antiquities Walkthrough — Complete Guide

If the pointer enters the red zone, a mini-game will start. In front of you is a circle with bowls. Lives are on the left, and dice are on the right. The task is to roll the dice to create the required combination. To make it clearer, here’s an example based on the screenshot below:

  • Left bowl: Two identical symbols.
  • Top bowl: Three identical symbols.
  • Bottom bowl: Two cats.
  • Right bowl: Moon.

You roll and see what combination you get. In this situation, there is a moon, so you need to place it in the bowl. In the next roll, you need to satisfy another requirement.

Strange Antiquities Walkthrough — Complete Guide

On the right side, there are nine lives. They are lost when crosses appear in your combination. If you fill the entire meter, you start over, and so on until you collect all the bowls. In the worst case, you’ll roll back to the last save.

Day 2

Finish the first day and receive a hint about where to find another artifact. A fugitive criminal headed northwest. He hid me in the first building he found. To replenish your collection, visit the house behind Location #10 The Old Jail.

Strange Antiquities Walkthrough — Complete Guide

The first visitor on the second day will be Verona Green. The woman will bring a textbook called Thaumic Disciplines. The book describes the names and meanings of all the hieroglyphs and symbols you’ll encounter in the game.

Tess Sherwood

I have no job, no husband, no friends, no future. They say the Horned Shackle can help.

Horned Shackle

The Horned Shackle brings change to a person’s life, granting them the ability to restrain their inner demons. The horns are usually rubbed with fingers, and over time this part of the relic becomes smooth. It can be worn as a pendant, but more often is used as a kind of totem. Find the wooden goat figurine on the central shelf to the right. Note that the horns on the figurine are smooth, while the rest is rough.

Strange Antiquities Walkthrough — Complete Guide

Give the goat figurine, after which the postman will enter the shop. He will deliver a letter from John Royston, who has found some kind of relic. Go to Location #30 Royston Farm and pick up the artifact. Then return to the shop and invite the next customer.

Strange Antiquities Walkthrough — Complete Guide

Julia Braddock

I’m going to visit my grandmother and want to bring her a gift. She lives all alone on the outskirts of town, on Clanbrook Road. I don’t get to see her often. Maybe the Heart of the Moon will comfort her.

Selenic Totem

The client’s request doesn’t mention the artifact’s name, but there’s a hint. Look for something on the display that you associate with nighttime. Take the wooden owl figurine with a crescent moon carved on its head from the top left shelf.

Strange Antiquities Walkthrough — Complete Guide

Daisy Winters

My friend—or rather, ex-friend—keeps stealing my jewelry. Three necklaces have disappeared over the last few weeks. One of them was a gift from my late grandmother. Do you have a suitable pendant? I’ll leave it in plain sight so my “friend” finds it. I want to teach her a lesson and stop her from stealing.

The girl will ask you to give her one of two necklaces. This is the first choice in the game, and there will be many more such forks. Your actions in these situations directly affect the ending.

Binding Seed

This item is made from two different materials, symbolizing mentica and vixica—mind and body. The winding path, the mind, is depicted as a spiral surrounding the body—the seed. The Binding Seed is a form of punishment that amplifies guilt and shame.

Following the hint, you can assume the necklace is made of two different materials. Look for an amulet where a stone is entwined with a branch.

Strange Antiquities Walkthrough — Complete Guide

Zeah

This unremarkable item is worn around the neck, close to the heart. It induces fear and paranoia. Sometimes this relic is very hard to remove. Zeah is made from a single material, but not wood or clay. Usually, it has no symbols or inscriptions on its surface.

Among the other necklaces, only this bronze ram’s head has no decorations.

Strange Antiquities Walkthrough — Complete Guide

Emmet Burrows

They just found a person in the house where crows were flying overhead. I’m not waiting for another omen. I’m taking my family to Sedbergh. I need a Libula so we can get there safely.

Libula

The purpose of the Libula is to give confidence during times of turmoil and change. However, most scholar-occultists don’t favor this relic. Nevertheless, the charm of wisdom proves that Libula is more than just a decoration. Ancient thaumaturges knew well the power of symbols.

The reference book mentions the charm of wisdom. It is depicted as an M-shaped letter with a lower contour, as described in the book Thaumic Disciplines. You can find this symbol on a round bronze medallion.

Strange Antiquities Walkthrough — Complete Guide

Day 3

You start this day with a hint showing a cartographic diagram. Open the city atlas and look at Prince’s Street. Select the middle sector and find two artifacts there.

Francesca Robertson

I am Francesca Robertson, a sort of doctor. I suppose you’ve already heard about Mr. Hungerford? It seems that’s all anyone talks about. I know how to treat ailments... of occult origin, but black eyes are something new. I’ve heard of something like this before, but I doubt that’s our case. In any case, I hope the Evocant will help.

Evocant

According to a common myth, this stone item “weighs as much as a human heart.” The truth is more prosaic, but the weight of the relic is certainly important and equals one pound. The item is placed on the chest of someone in a coma to bring them back to consciousness.

There are scales on the counter, and on the lower right shelf behind the door are weights. Now, following the description, find the stone with a spiral and the one-pound (1 lb) weight. If the scales are level, you’ve chosen the right artifact.

Strange Antiquities Walkthrough — Complete Guide

Edith Moore

The girl will come if you gave Daisy the Zeah pendant on the second day.

I’ve been looking over my shoulder all day. I feel like something is following me. I need a shield charm. Right now.

Shield Charm

A skilled thaumaturge is unlikely to need universal protection charms. Still, they have a minor effect. For example, they won’t work on an Oshadik spirit or a Wandering Veil. The basis of these charms is the art of symbols, an ancient and, according to some, primitive branch of thaumaturgy. They are made from various materials, but precious metals are rarely used.

The name of the charm and the reference book both mention the protection symbol. The book also says the artifact is made from different materials. Open the thaumaturge’s catalog and find the corresponding hieroglyph in the Charms section. Now look for the pendant with a tin medallion engraved with two crossed squares forming a diamond in the center.

Strange Antiquities Walkthrough — Complete Guide

The next visitor will be Hugh Langston. The man will say he found a relic in the city. Open the map and find the intersection of Ferryman’s Way and Mill Lane in the east. There is a park near the crossroads containing a couple of artifacts.

Verona Green

I was at Hungerford’s: I helped Dr. Robertson and tried to figure out what happened. I did find a broken Oshadik vessel, but it’s clearly not a case of creeping darkness. There was a strange black stain on the flagstone floor. I’m heading to Gliston Castle—maybe Edmund Bishop can explain their strange behavior. But first, I need a Vessager: whatever it is, we can’t let it spread.

Vessager

The Vessager helps prevent the spread of diseases and epidemics. In addition, flames near it take on a pale blue tint.

There are candles at the entrance to the shop. Take one of them and move it in front of the artifacts until the light turns blue. This way, you’ll find a rectangular bar with four different gemstones, made of stone and gold.

Strange Antiquities Walkthrough — Complete Guide

Day 4

After the previous shift, you will receive a card with a hint that says:

When two families quarreled, I was buried behind the Locke and the Keystone.

To add to your artifact collection, open the atlas and look for the empty area in front of Locations #13,7: Keystone Manor, Locke House.

Strange Antiquities Walkthrough — Complete Guide

The first to enter the shop will be the owner, Eli, who will give you a new relic.

Edith Moore

The girl will come if you gave Daisy the Binding Seed pendant on the second day. Edith will ask for something that will change her life. For this, the Horned Shackle artifact, a wooden figurine of a goat with smooth horns, is suitable.

Francesca Robertson

Unfortunately, the Evocant did not bring Mr. Hungerford back to consciousness. Something strange is happening: sometimes it seems like he’s awake, but in reality, he’s in a deep trance and cannot say a word. I know it’s not the best idea, but to get through this week, I’ll need a Sleep Vessel.

Sleep Vessel

It is believed that the six edges of the Sleep Vessel symbolize the six thaumic disciplines: selenic, draedic, noctic, diurnic, vixic, and mentic. Such relics absorb a person’s fatigue, allowing them to go unnaturally long without sleep. However, with frequent use, it becomes harder and harder to control, as un-dreamed nightmares begin to escape from it.

Following the description in the reference book, you need to find an amulet with a six-pointed figure and a circle in the center.

Many years ago, I had a Silent Breath. But it was already old when I got it, and its power soon faded.

Silent Breath

Some consider the white deer a valuable trophy. However, killing the noble guardian of the forest brings honor to no one. Silent Breath contains a piece of a living white deer. As long as it is alive, the item will hold its power, and the relic’s owner will be able to foresee danger.

From the description of the artifact, it becomes clear that it contains a trophy part of a white deer. Accordingly, you should look for a vessel with blue liquid containing a long light hair.

Rufus Shelley

I’ve always wanted to try the Bonds of Daedalus. I’m drawn to the celestial path, so things like this aren’t new to me. Of course, I understand the risk. Besides, I have a good reason now. I need to fix the roof, and it seems like the safest way.

Daedalus Link

The Daedalus Link is a powerful relic capable of creating a levitation field. However, it is extremely unstable, so it’s best not to take unnecessary risks. Such items are surprisingly light. Their appearance may vary, but they often have a connection to flight—for example, it might be a feather, wings, a bird, or an insect.

Following the logic of the artifact’s description, you need to find an amulet with a bird made of blackened silver.

Strange Antiquities Walkthrough — Complete Guide

The next visitor will be Edmund Bishop, who will give you a map of Gliston Castle. This will allow you to switch between the fortress and the city. Open the palace diagram and find the inscription Ground Floor. Below it is the chemical symbol for Bismuth (a circle with a hemisphere, ends pointing upward). Enter this room, then receive the artifact and the Gemstones book.

Strange Antiquities Walkthrough — Complete Guide

Day 5

The shift begins with a hint showing the layout of some room. Open the castle map and pay attention to the First Floor. Find the small room under the Library and get a new artifact.

Strange Antiquities Walkthrough — Complete Guide

The first to enter the shop will be the postman, who will deliver a letter stating that a mystical place was found somewhere in the north. Head to Location #6 Heath Wood and receive three amulets.

I haven’t performed the Rite of the Red Knives in many years, but I still remember every step. If I could get my hands on the Orford Spire, I could perform it one more time before I die.

Orford Spire

During the Rite of the Red Knives, the Orford Spire is submerged in goat blood for nine days and nights. It is believed that if the ritual is performed correctly, it grants vitality and clarity of mind. Though it probably won’t help the goat anymore...

After studying the hint from the reference book, select the iron bloodstained artifact. It looks like a six-fingered hand with an eye in the center. Touching it gives a surge of energy.

Strange Antiquities Walkthrough — Complete Guide

Eli White

I need to leave again for a few days. The Order of the Black Savanna has the information I need. Its members try to study the afterlife and drink an elixir that puts them into a deep trance. If I’m right, they might shed some light on what’s happening. But there’s one problem... I’ve been on bad terms with them for a long time. Will you give me the Guise of Lillian? I’ve fooled my enemies with it more than once.

Guise of Lillian

This item allows its owner to remain unrecognized. But if you use it for too long, you may start losing yourself. Thaumaturges have used remains of extinct creatures in their practice for centuries: from fossilized teeth and bones to trilobites, ammonites, and gryphaea. One such ancient source of power is used for the Guise of Lillian as well.

Look for a cobblestone with a fossilized ammonite visible on it. Also, when you touch the artifact, it feels as if someone else is controlling your body.

Strange Antiquities Walkthrough — Complete Guide

Rebecca Rose

In this situation, you need to give one of the offered artifacts. Your choice will affect one of the endings.

More than anything in the world, I always loved to paint. Now I’ve lost that ability and have no idea what to do next. I understand that I’ll never be able to see, but maybe you have something that would let me start painting again? Honestly, I feel really embarrassed. From the outside, it seems like such a trifle, but for me, painting is my whole life.

Ram’s Trace

This relic causes synesthesia, allowing its owner to perceive colors, shades, light, and shadow through touch. Sometimes, such items are used by people working in low light, like miners. The gemstones on the Ram’s Trace are arranged in the shape of a constellation named after this sign.

This description fits a slate stone with purple gemstones arranged in a line resembling the Aries constellation.

Strange Antiquities Walkthrough — Complete Guide

Spirit Eye

Some people avoid the Spirit Eye, believing it to be a window into a world best left unseen. Others think this fear is nothing but a silly superstition. It’s not fully clear what exactly it allows you to see. Perhaps the relic reveals another layer of reality, beyond the visible world, which human senses cannot detect. The Spirit Eye is empowered by opposing symbols inscribed on it.

According to the text, you need to look for an amulet with two symbols. It features the signs of warmth (a circle with a line crossed twice above) and cold (a triangle with a line crossed twice below). In the center, there is a malachite (the green stone of vision).

Strange Antiquities Walkthrough — Complete Guide

Clarence Hawker

Those cursed crows have brought misfortune on three more poor souls. People’s eyes are turning black. And now there’s this fog. The nights are getting longer, and I work late. So I’m not going to walk down Holbrook Road without something like a lantern.

Sun Bond

The Sun Bond is small and light—it can be worn discreetly. It is made from base metal and a precious stone of light. The relic stores warmth and sunlight—its shine can pierce even the deepest darkness.

According to the information from the book, look for a warm-to-the-touch bronze amulet inlaid with amber (the sun stone).

Audrey Bell

In the coming days, I’ll need the Holgen Grimm.

Holgen Grimm

The priests of Holgar wear such sinister items when performing various rituals related to death and the afterlife. With the Sacrament, they ask for his protection; with the Truth of the Wolf Song, they seek advice; and the Warrior’s Path helps the deceased find their way.

This is a ritual artifact that causes unpleasant sensations when touched. The relic is made in the form of a clay mask of a mythical monster, with a vivianite (the stone of death and decay) in its forehead.
