Voidtrain: How to Unlock and Find Roflimo

Voidtrain is a cooperative first-person survival game where you build and manage your own train traveling through the mysterious Void. Between stops, you’ll need to gather resources on the move, fend off local threats, and explore abandoned islands. In this guide, we’ll explain how to get special helper-passengers for your train.

Roflimo are small, friendly creatures from the Void who become your companions and helpers on the train once they hatch. After rescuing them from a depot, you can add them to your crew as passengers—but only if you have a free Roflimo bed available.

You’ll unlock your first Roflimo and the bed recipe as part of the main story, during the “The Creature” quest. This quest becomes available after you visit the sixth depot, where you’ll receive the bed blueprint and the materials for it.

Once you see the on-screen notification, head to the small lab to the left of your train. Inside, approach the table and pick up the documents.

After the narrator’s dialogue, go forward into the hallway and enter the storage room, breaking the boards blocking your way.

On the shelf to the left, you’ll find an amber egg. Take it and carry it back to the main depot.

On the depot platform, you’ll see a special structure glowing green. This acts as an incubator for Roflimo and lets you hatch the amber egg. Place the egg capsule into the device and press the red button on the right. After a few seconds, a small jelly-like creature—your Roflimo—will hatch.

After the narrator finishes, take the bed sketch and some materials from the alien’s hands. Using the blueprint, craft a Roflimo bed from two wooden logs, one set of bolts, and a piece of leather in one of your train cars. Then, invite your new passenger aboard. Beds can be placed anywhere except the locomotive (the first engine car).

Beyond just being adorable, Roflimo can help with production on your train. Each creature can have special perks: from speeding up certain stations to increasing rewards when crafting items. You can activate Roflimo abilities using special mushrooms.

Like any pet, they need proper care. If you don’t feed your Roflimo, clean up after them, or if you make them work outside the depot, they’ll become sad and much less effective. If you neglect their needs, their perks become locked and you won’t be able to use their full potential.

The inhabitants of the Void mainly eat organic food grown from special seeds in garden beds. They can feed themselves by picking up food from containers left on the train, so you don’t have to do it manually. In their free time, these little cuties will play various musical instruments, lifting the spirits of you and your crew.

After you unlock your first Roflimo, you’ll start finding platforms with amber eggs at some depots. They’re often located near the incubator. So at every stop, be sure to check the device for new capsules and regularly add new members to your crew.
