Pragmata Best Upgrades Guide

Pragmata is a space action-adventure game from Capcom with unique combat hacking mechanics, where astronaut Hugh and the android girl Diana travel through a devastated lunar station. To deal with enemies faster in Pragmata, you need to upgrade actively. Strong upgrades are also important if you want to unlock the true ending in Pragmata.

The upgrade system in Pragmata is split into several categories. Hugh's core stats, Diana's hacking abilities, the main weapon, and additional modules and gear are all upgraded separately as you progress through the game.

Upgrade Components are used to improve Hugh's basic stats, Diana's hacking level, and Hugh's main weapon module.

Lunafilament and Pure Lunum are needed for broader upgrades to Hugh and Diana's weapons, abilities, and modules. With these resources, you can upgrade:

Cabin Coins can be used to fill out cards in the Cabin Stamp Club, where you can get new weapons and mods. Cabin Coins can also be used to buy outfits, which are purely cosmetic.

At the start of Pragmata, you should not invest evenly into every upgrade path. First, it is better to upgrade thrusters and scanning, as well as Diana's hacking-related abilities. These upgrades have the biggest impact on progression speed, combat comfort, and location exploration. As you collect more resources, you can start improving the rest, including Hugh's health, which becomes noticeably lacking by the middle of the game.

You can find most resources simply by searching locations, but each resource type has its own details, which we will explain below.

Upgrade Components are the main resource for upgrading Hugh, Diana, and Hugh's weapon module. They are usually scattered throughout locations. Our interactive map shows where you can find this resource. The fastest way to get a lot of components is to complete Training Simulations. Near the end of the game, many Upgrade Components can also be found in Safe Boxes.

Lunafilament is the main currency in the game. You get it by killing enemies, so it is worth clearing locations thoroughly and not avoiding tough opponents. The largest amounts of Lunafilament can be found in Safe Boxes and as rewards for clearing Red Zones. Red Zones are also marked on our interactive map.

Pure Lunum is a resource that becomes especially important in the second half of the game. It is required to upgrade weapons, modules, and abilities to their maximum levels. Early on, Training Simulations are a convenient way to get it, while in the last two sectors it can be found in Safe Boxes and optional resource areas.

If you want the fastest way to upgrade in Pragmata, focus not on endlessly clearing regular enemies, but on activities with higher rewards. These give more Upgrade Components, Lunafilament, and rare materials for upgrades.
