Gothic 1 Remake Infinite Ore Farming Guide

In Gothic 1 Remake, ore is the main currency. You need it to buy equipment, items, and training from teachers. Early in the game, you are almost always short on ore, so any stable way to earn more makes the playthrough much easier. In this guide, we will explain how to farm infinite ore in the Free Mine using ore veins and save reloading.

To start farming ore, you first need to reach the Free Mine. Go past the entrance to the New Camp and continue up the road toward the mountains. As soon as you can, turn left. It is hard to get lost here, since there is only one available path. You will encounter several monsters along the way, but you do not have to fight them right now. Make your way through the cave with molerats. After that, you will reach a large quarry with many diggers. The Free Mine is separate from the New Camp, which is why you need to take this route.

Here, you need to find three ore veins that can be mined safely without causing conflict with the local diggers and mercenaries. You will not be allowed into the guarded part of the mine right away, but you do not need to enter it for this farm. Normally, once all ore has been mined from a vein, it becomes empty. At the moment, however, this limitation can be bypassed by saving and loading the game.

The process is very simple:

After loading the save, the ore inside the vein is restored. You can repeat the process many times until you have the amount of ore you need. The developers may fix this exploit in one of the patches, so the method may not work in every version of the game.

There are three suitable ore veins for this farming method in the Free Mine. Go down to the lower part of the quarry, toward the passage into the guarded area. The guards will not let the hero inside, but the veins you need are nearby. Climb slightly higher up the slope toward the building and enter the tunnel to the right of it. The first vein is there, and it gives 5 ore nuggets per cycle.

Climb higher and find a character named Baloro. He gives the side quest Baloro's Weapon. From him, head left. At the very end, you can spot two more veins on the walls. One gives 5 ore nuggets per cycle, while the other gives 15.

When the veins run out of ore, save the game, load the same save, and mine the ore again. Repeat the cycle until you have saved up the amount you need.

One full run through all three veins gives you 25 ore nuggets: two veins give 5 nuggets each, while the third gives 15. After saving and loading, the ore is restored, so this route can be used to earn money quickly early in the game.
