Slasher
The genre of video games "slasher" focuses on defeating enemies using piercing and cutting weapons. Typically, these are single-player or cooperative games where the main characters must overcome large groups of various enemies, who are most often monsters. It is a related genre to "beat them all," where the essence remains the same, but fists are used instead of weapons.
