Kinnars (men) and Kinnaris (women) are two of the most beloved mythological characters. Believed to have come from the Himalayas, they often watch over the well-being of people in times of hardship or danger. The kinnari has the head, body and arms of a woman, and the wings, tail and legs of a swan. They are known for their dancing, song and poetry and are a traditional symbol of female beauty, grace and achievement.
