Games about superheroes allow gamers to take on the role of superheroes who fight for the forces of good and most often try to save a city, a country, or even the whole world from impending disaster. Usually, everything happens because of a villain and his grand plans, and sometimes because of aliens from other planets. The most popular heroes with superpowers are Batman and Spider-Man. There are a great many games about these heroes. But others are not far behind, as in superhero games you can encounter Iron Man or the Hulk.

Most superhero games are first and third-person action games, and much less frequently, fighting games. Since such heroes are quite rare, there is little to say about strategies and RPGs in this "genre."

This list features the best games about superheroes that tell their stories and allow gamers to step into their shoes.
