In the world of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, players are in for an exciting journey in search of an artifact shrouded in myths and legends. You will learn the stories of those who have held the mysterious Thunderstone and can uncover its secrets. In this guide, we will detail how to find this unique artifact and how it can be used.
In the region of Kuttenberg, in the village of Grunta, you will meet a horsewoman named Hanna. Ask her how she is doing, and she will share a story about a girl named Kona, who is looking for a helper to find a mysterious item.
Upon meeting Kona, you will learn that she needs the legendary artifact — the Thunderstone, capable of healing any disease. The girl hopes that the stone will help her give birth to a healthy child. However, it can only be obtained in an honest duel with a man named Tomlin, as this is the only way the artifact will retain its magical properties.
In the village of Gorjan, behind the roadside chapel, you will find the estate of Tomlin Brutan. Inquire about the Thunderstone, and he will tell you that the best fist fighters have fought for this artifact, but he is not willing to part with such a valuable item easily. Convince him to engage in a duel — if you succeed, he will agree to the fight. Follow him to the battle site, be prepared to wager a large sum of money, and get ready for the fight.
After winning, you will get your money back, but upon demanding the stone, you will learn that Tomlin no longer has it. It turns out that he once owned the artifact, but it was stolen by Yenik from Ratborz.
However, you have a chance to avoid the fight. Ask Tomlin to show you the stone, then pass several persuasion checks. You will learn that the real artifact was stolen from him, and he now carries a fake to maintain his reputation. Do not try to pressure him — it will do no good and will only damage your reputation. In any case, Tomlin will tell you how to find Yenik and will ask you to return the stone, promising a generous reward.
Head to Ratborz, where in the courtyard to the left of the chapel, you will find Peter — he is usually working in the garden. Ask him about the Thunderstone, and he will tell you that his friend Yenik decided to use the artifact to defeat local bandits.
Ondrej Barany Lob, a mercenary in the service of Sigismund, is terrorizing the village, and Peter, along with Yenik and Stislav, tried to resist him. However, their plan failed: they were injured, and Yenik was captured by the mercenaries. Peter will ask you to rescue his friend from captivity.
Leaving Ratborz from the north side, follow the road to the nearest crossroads and turn left. Continue until you see a ruined water mill on the left side. This is where you will find the mercenaries' camp, where you need to rescue Yenik from captivity.
Approach the guard at the entrance and inform him that you are heading to the leader — he will let you pass without any questions. You will find Ondrej Barany Lob, the decurion, near his hut. Ask him about Yenik, and he will offer to pay a large ransom for the prisoner. Here you have three options:
However, be cautious: if the last two checks fail, the entire mercenary camp will turn their wrath against you.
But these are not the only possible paths. You can act as follows:
If you decide on open combat or a night attack, you will have the opportunity to search the camp. Among the loot, you will find many valuable items, as well as the unique Barany Lob's hammer.
Take Yenik away from the camp. He will thank you for the rescue and tell you that Barany Lob took the Thunderstone from him. By eavesdropping on the mercenaries, Yenik learned that Ondrej sold the artifact to a peasant woman named Mlada from the village of Suchdol.
Head to the village of Suchdol and find the house at the very south of the settlement — there you will meet Mlada. Ask her about the Thunderstone, and she will tell you that she bought the artifact for a considerable amount of money, hoping to cure her husband Peter of a serious illness. Offer to help heal her husband in exchange for the stone.
Mlada will agree to accept your help in treating her husband, and at this moment, the task "Healing in Pechki" will begin. First, ask those who know Peter to learn details about his illness and understand how best to help him.
Mlada will tell you that her husband, Peter the cooper, went on business to Pechki but returned empty-handed. After that, he locked himself in the workshop and then took to bed, stopping eating and sleeping. In the bedroom, you will find the sick man, untouched food, and remedies that apparently did not help him. By questioning the locals, you will learn that Peter returned in a depressed state on the same day he left Suchdol and may be losing his mind.
Peter will tell you that while passing by the village of Opatovce, he saw it destroyed by Sigismund's troops. This sight deeply shocked him, plunging him into melancholy, and now he is convinced that he faces the same fate. To heal him, give him chamomile decoction or dried chamomile — this will be enough.
If you do not want to spend time questioning the locals, you can heal Peter on the spot. To do this, simply pass several persuasion checks successfully, and the treatment will be completed.
Wait a couple of days and visit Mlada and Peter. You will see that the man has fully recovered from his ailment and now looks healthy. Talk to his wife, and she will give the hero the Thunderstone as a reward for saving her husband.
Return to the village of Grunta and talk to Kona. Inform her that you have the Thunderstone and offer to give it to her. As a reward, you will receive:
In addition, she will offer you a small sum of money. If you decide to show nobility, you can refuse the money, saying that it is better spent on the future child.
But if you decide to keep the stone for yourself, Kona will curse you, and your reputation in the village will significantly worsen. If you have the stone, you can change your mind and give it to the woman.
Head to Gorzhany and find Tomlin. Inform him that you have the Thunderstone and offer to return it. In gratitude, he will offer you a choice: a monetary reward or an improvement in the "Unarmed Combat" skill. Upon choosing a reward, you will hear his sincere gratitude for returning the artifact.
If you say that you decided to keep the stone for yourself or give it to Kona, Tomlin will scold you, and the hero's reputation in his eyes will worsen. However, as long as you have the artifact, you can change your mind and still return it to Tomlin.
You can receive a double reward by being cunning. First, give the stone to Tomlin and receive a reward from him — either money or an improvement in the "Unarmed Combat" skill. Then steal the artifact back and take it to Kona to receive her gratitude and other rewards. If you ultimately want to keep the stone for yourself, you can steal it from Kona as well.
You can steal the Thunderstone from Mlada right after the quest begins. However, in this case, you will only be able to give it to Kona. If you steal the artifact after talking to Tomlin, you will have the opportunity to claim a double reward: first from Tomlin, and then from Kona.
The "Thunderstone" quest offers the player many completion options, but the outcome always comes down to one: only you decide who will get the artifact: Kona, Tomlin, or you. Your actions will not affect the game world, except for the hero's reputation, which may improve or worsen depending on your choice.
