The best vampire games for PC, PS5, PlayStation 4, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch — we've gathered a top 30: from cult classics to 2026 releases. Vampires are a fertile theme for games, though surprisingly few major projects about them have come out. But the last couple of years have been making up for lost time: in 2025, after long delays, Vampire: The Masquerade — Bloodlines 2 finally arrived, and on the way are the RPG The Blood of Dawnwalker from former developers of The Witcher 3 and the grim The Duskbloods from the creators of Bloodborne.

In this selection, vampires appear in the most varied roles. In some games you lead a clan and weave intrigues, in others you build a castle and gather an army of servants, and in still others you yourself become the prey of hunters — or set out on the hunt with a full arsenal. We've gathered games of every genre: RPGs, action games, survival games, horrors, roguelikes, and quests.

Vampire RPGs

The best vampire RPGs, where you can play as a bloodsucker or a hunter of one. Here vampirism isn't just a setting but part of the mechanics: the thirst for blood affects the story, abilities, and endings, while clans and factions open up different playstyles. From the cult Bloodlines to fresh releases — role-playing games in which you decide for yourself who to become in the world of night.

Vampire: The Masquerade — Bloodlines

Vampire: The Masquerade — Bloodlines (2004), based on the tabletop role-playing game, is still considered one of the best vampire games — for its deep role-play, clans with different abilities, and the grim "World of Darkness" universe, where vampires hide among humans. The game launched in a raw state, so today fan patches are practically mandatory for it: they fix the technical condition and remove bugs. After more than twenty years, the classic finally got a sequel — Bloodlines 2.

Vampire: The Masquerade — Bloodlines 2

Vampire: The Masquerade — Bloodlines 2 is the sequel to the cult RPG, released in October 2025 after long years of waiting and delays. This time you play as the ancient vampire Phyre, who has lost his powers and is stuck in modern Seattle, where he has to maneuver between clans and untangle a mysterious murder. In the hero's head sounds the voice of the vampire detective Fabian — part of the story is delivered through him. The combat became noticeably more dynamic, and the series kept the recognizable oppressive atmosphere of the "World of Darkness." How this long-delayed project turned out in the end — we break it down in our Bloodlines 2 review.

The Blood of Dawnwalker

The Blood of Dawnwalker is an ambitious vampire RPG from Rebel Wolves, a studio of former key developers of The Witcher 3, including game director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz. The action unfolds in the 14th-century Carpathians, and the hero, named Coen, is a "Dawnwalker" — a being on the edge of human and vampire, who has just 30 days and nights to save his family. The authors promise an open world, a nonlinear story, and two combat styles: human by day and vampiric by night.

Vampyr

Vampyr is a grim action-RPG from Don't Nod, the studio behind Life is Strange and Remember Me. We play as a doctor who became a vampire and is now torn between a physician's duty and the thirst for blood in an epidemic-stricken London of the early 20th century. Moral choice affects not only the story but also the gameplay: the more often you attack people and drink their blood, the stronger you become and the more skills you unlock. But it's all too easy to turn into a monster for good and get the worst possible ending.

Vampire: The Masquerade — Swansong

Vampire: The Masquerade — Swansong is a story-driven RPG-detective set in the "Masquerade" universe from the creators of The Council. The player investigates a crisis in the vampire community of Boston, taking turns controlling three protagonists with different disciplines and approaches: in one spot eloquence will help, in another — hacking, hypnosis, or brute force. The emphasis is not on combat but on dialogue, investigation, and moral decisions that determine the outcome.

Code Vein

Code Vein is a souls-like in an anime style, where you play as a Revenant — a vampire-like warrior in a ruined post-apocalyptic world. To keep from turning into a mad monster, the heroes need blood, and in battle a partner controlled by AI or another player helps out. Difficult bosses, deep character customization, and an unexpectedly touching story set the game apart from Dark Souls imitators. If you love the genre, more similar projects are in our top of 20 games similar to Dark Souls.

The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine

The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine is a large expansion for The Witcher 3, which many critics call one of the best DLCs in history. Geralt travels to sunny Toussaint, where behind the pastoral vineyards hides a string of brutal murders, with an ancient and powerful vampire at the center of the intrigue. The expansion is entirely tied to the vampire theme, offers 20–30 hours of story, and has its own large map.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim — Dawnguard

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim — Dawnguard is a story DLC for Skyrim built entirely around vampires. The Vampire Lord Harkon seeks to snuff out the sun, and the player has to choose a side: join the order of hunters known as the Dawnguard, or side with the vampires and become a Vampire Lord yourself, transforming into a winged creature. Dawnguard adds new locations, abilities, and quests.

Vampire Action Games and Slashers

Dynamic action games and slashers about vampires, where the emphasis is on spectacular battles. In some games you carve up the undead with blades as an immortal hero, in others you yourself stand against the spawn of darkness. This category includes the classic metroidvanias of the Castlevania series, the gothic action games of Legacy of Kain, and other projects with a focus on combat.

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night

The games in this series are dedicated to the confrontation between the Belmont clan and Count Dracula. Bram Stoker's novel not only became the main source of inspiration but is also considered part of the core story. We've included in our selection Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, in which the action-platformer mechanic of exploring a castle and finding new locations is brought to perfection. Worth highlighting separately are the bosses with unique tactics and the thick atmosphere in the spirit of classic vampire films.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow is a reboot of the series that turned a sprite platformer into an effective 3D action game. The knight Gabriel Belmont travels through a grim fantasy world, fights giant bosses in the spirit of God of War, and step by step approaches the final twist that turns the whole story of the series on its head.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 is a direct sequel to the reboot and the finale of the trilogy, where the player finally gets control of Dracula himself. The weakened lord of vampires awakens in a modern city and is forced to regain his powers, moving between a gothic castle and a metropolis. The combat system was expanded with new forms and abilities, though the stealth episodes were received ambiguously.

BloodRayne 2

The first and second installments of the BloodRayne series are simple but entertaining action games starring a red-haired dhampir. She drinks the blood of enemies right in the middle of combat, restoring her health that way. Some opponents resist, so it's worth disarming them in melee first. The story resembles B-movie thrillers about vampires bent on ruling the entire world. Today the most convenient way to play is the remaster of the duology — BloodRayne: Terminal Cut.

BloodRayne Betrayal: Fresh Bites

BloodRayne Betrayal: Fresh Bites is an updated version of the 2D action-platformer about the dhampir Rayne. Unlike the 3D installments of the series, here the emphasis is on fast combos, precise jumps, and high difficulty in the spirit of classic arcades. Rayne slices enemies apart with blades, drinks blood for health, and stages bloody massacres under a stylish art style. The re-release added fresh voice acting and a number of improvements.

Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver

Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver is a cult action-adventure where you play as Raziel, executed by his master Kain and reborn as a devourer of souls. The hero moves between the material world and the spirit world, solving spatial puzzles and consuming the souls of enemies. The sequel Soul Reaver 2 continued the story: it added time travel and tangled the plot about fate and free will even further. At the end of 2024, both parts were gathered into the compilation Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered with updated graphics, a reworked camera, and improved controls.

Legacy of Kain: Defiance

Before Crystal Dynamics took on the adventures of Lara Croft, it released vampire games. In our selection we've included Legacy of Kain: Defiance — the last single-player installment of the series, where for the first time you get to play as both Kain and Raziel. The main emphasis here is on story and action, with puzzles taking a back seat. In March 2026, for the series' 30th anniversary, the remaster Legacy of Kain: Defiance Remastered came out with HD graphics, the ability to switch to the original picture, and bonuses — right down to a playable demo of a cancelled sequel.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is the spiritual heir to Castlevania from Koji Igarashi, one of its key creators. It's a classic metroidvania: the heroine Miriam, whose body is gradually turning to crystal, explores a huge demonic castle, knocks ability-shards out of enemies, and battles enormous bosses. For fans of "Symphony of the Night" — a practically perfect return of the genre.

The Duskbloods

The Duskbloods is a new project from FromSoftware, the creators of Bloodborne and Elden Ring, maintained in the same dark gothic style. This time the studio is making a PvPvE action game: up to eight "half-bloods" fight each other and the environment in a dying world of the industrial era, with vampire blood granting them supernatural powers. For fans of Bloodborne — the main reason to keep an eye on the genre's new releases.

Vampire-Hunting Games

Games about hunting vampires, where you end up on the other side of the fangs. Shooters and action games in which the hero tracks down and exterminates the undead — from an alternate Wild West to noir motels and colonial New England. The main weapon here is the hunter's arsenal and cold calculation against those who hide in the dark.

Evil West

An action game set in an alternate Wild West, where you'll fight hordes of vampires and other unholy creatures. Melee and firearms come into play, along with unique abilities. A large arsenal lets you work out your own tactics for fighting the spawn of evil. If you wish, you can destroy enemies in Evil West in the company of a buddy.

The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing

The official game based on the film "Van Helsing" once turned out to be a flop. But if you want to take control of a hunter of the unholy, it's worth paying attention to The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing. By the start of the main events, Van Helsing himself has already retired, so you'll fight as his son, who followed in his father's footsteps. In gameplay terms the project resembles Diablo: an isometric camera, crowds of monsters, and exterminating them with weapons and mechanical helpers.

El Paso, Elsewhere

El Paso, Elsewhere is a stylish indie action game in the spirit of Max Payne, where bullet-time and dive jumps are combined with a noir story. The hero James pursues his ex — the vampire Draket, who has set the end of the world in motion — descending ever lower through an endless, eerie motel. Amid a hail of bullets and a dramatic inner monologue, the game unexpectedly hooks you with a sincere tale of a codependent relationship.

Vampire Hunters

Vampire Hunters is a dynamic first-person shooter crossed with the mechanics of Vampire Survivors. To exterminate hordes of vampires and other undead, the hero gathers a whole arsenal — up to a dozen and a half guns at once, stacking them into absurdly powerful combinations. A light arcade with a disco retro mood that works great in short runs.

Vampire Survival Games, Strategies, and Roguelikes

Unconventional vampire games: survival games where you build a castle and gather an army, and roguelikes where hordes of the undead test your reflexes. In this category gameplay comes to the fore — here what matters is not the story but smart progression, defense, and the ability to survive the next wave of enemies.

V Rising

An isometric action game with survival elements, in which we play as a vampire. You'll attack nearby villages, fight other monsters, and build your own castle. People can be turned into loyal servants who obey your orders. But keep in mind: your success is guaranteed to attract the attention of hunters of the unholy, and in V Rising they'll become your worst enemies. If you enjoy this kind of gameplay, more similar projects are gathered in our top of the best survival games on PC.

Vampire Survivors

Vampire Survivors is the phenomenon that started the craze for roguelikes of the "bullet heaven" genre. The controls are extremely simple: the hero moves around the field, the weapons attack on their own, and the whole point is to survive the mounting hordes of the undead and assemble absurdly powerful upgrade combinations. Despite the deliberately retro graphics and tiny price, the game holds you for dozens of hours and has gathered a heap of awards. There aren't many classic vampires here, but a top about bloodsuckers is unthinkable without it.

Renfield: Bring Your Own Blood

Renfield: Bring Your Own Blood is a dynamic roguelike action game based on the film "Renfield" with Nicolas Cage as Dracula. In a retro style, the player fights through hordes of enemies, levels up the count's servant, and combines abilities from run to run. A light arcade that doesn't claim any depth but wins you over with black humor and bloody action.

Vampire Horror Games

Vampire horror games, where the main thing is atmosphere and fear. Gothic castles, grim European towns, and a constant sense of threat from the dark. In these games the bloodsuckers act not as allies but as dangerous predators, and encounters with them rarely end well. And if you want to be scared even more, take a look at our selection of the best horror games of all time.

Resident Evil Village

The story of the Resident Evil series always revolved around dangerous biotechnology, but in the eighth installment vampires unexpectedly appeared. Lady Dimitrescu, one of the key bosses, drinks exclusively human blood and lives in a gothic castle somewhere in Eastern Europe — the parallels with Count Dracula are obvious. Vampires are far from the only theme of Resident Evil Village, but it was precisely Dimitrescu's vampire castle that became the game's calling card.

Nosferatu: The Wrath of Malachi

Nosferatu: The Wrath of Malachi is a half-forgotten horror-shooter from 2003 that was ahead of its time with procedural generation. The player has just 90 minutes to run through the randomly assembled castle of Count Malachi and save family members before they're turned into vampires. No inventory, no unnecessary conventions — only mounting tension and sudden appearances of creatures from around corners. For a long time the game was forgotten, but now it's available on Steam and GOG.

Cabernet

Cabernet is an atmospheric indie RPG about a young woman named Lisa who becomes a vampire in the decor of 19th-century Eastern Europe. The authors deliberately present the thirst for blood as an addiction: you can hold yourself in check or give in to temptation, and each choice changes your relationships with people and the ending. No action whatsoever — only conversations, exploration, and moral crossroads in the spirit of classic vampire dramas.

Vampire Quests and Adventures

Vampire quests and adventures for those who love unhurried gameplay with a story and puzzles. Here the vampire theme is revealed through dialogue, investigations, and the exploration of grim locations, rather than through combat. The perfect choice if you want to soak up the gothic atmosphere without action.

A Vampyre Story

These days classic quests can be called a dying genre. But if you enjoy unhurried gameplay with puzzle-solving, pay attention to A Vampyre Story. It's a cute and funny story about an opera singer who was turned into a vampire. She has to accept her new nature and get used to a world where she's considered a spawn of evil. A separate delight is the pleasant art style in the spirit of Tim Burton's cartoons.

Vampire: The Masquerade — Coteries of New York

Vampire: The Masquerade — Coteries of New York is a visual novel set in the "Masquerade" universe. A freshly turned vampire ends up in the thick of the confrontation between the ancient Camarilla and the rebellious Sabbat of New York, and gathers a "coterie" around themselves — a small group of allies. There's almost no combat: everything rests on text, the choice of clan, and decisions that determine the hero's fate. A good entry into the lore for those who care about story rather than action.

Dracula: Origin

Dracula: Origin is a classic quest from 2008, where the player takes on the role of Professor Van Helsing, following the trail of Count Dracula from London to Egypt. In the best traditions of the genre — examining locations, collecting items, and dozens of puzzles of varying difficulty. The somewhat grim but beautiful hand-drawn picture and the dense atmosphere of horror make the game a pleasant find for fans of the old school of adventures.

Vampire games are a whole spectrum of genres: you can become an ancient bloodsucker in Vampire: The Masquerade — Bloodlines, hunt the unholy in Evil West, build a vampire empire in V Rising, or simply survive the hordes in Vampire Survivors. The selection has a project for any mood — from grim RPGs to light roguelikes.

A few games didn't make the main list, but they're worth keeping on your radar too:

Marvel's Blade is an upcoming action game from Arkane Studios, the creators of Dishonored, about the legendary half-vampire Eric Brooks, nicknamed Blade. The hunter investigates an invasion of the unholy in nighttime Paris, balancing between the human and vampire sides of his nature. The game is still in development and has no exact date, but Arkane's signature approach to well-crafted levels promises one of the most notable vampire projects of the coming years.

Vampires: Bloodlord Rising is an open-world vampire survival game that came out in early access at the start of 2026. It takes the formula familiar from Valheim — with exploration, base building, and co-op — and transfers it to a gothic fantasy where you resurrect a vampire and build your own castle.
