Open world games
There is one very important feature in open world games - the main character can go to any place he likes, regardless of what task he is performing. There are no linear connections in such games, so you can engage in research, free travel through already known locations, as well as completing secondary tasks.
Often in such games, some locations will still be closed and will become accessible only after completing a certain task. An excellent example is Final Fantasy 15.
Open world can be found both in fantasy RPGs (remembering The Elder Scrolls series) and in modern shooters like GTA or Sleeping Dogs. In this list, we've collected all the games that offer fans seamless worlds, sometimes even with survival and crafting elements.
